Winter 2010/2011

First serious snow of the year so far, came flying into Aberdeen, clear blue skies and could see right into the Cairngorms, totally white. There was even some snow back in August and early September on the top of the peaks.

The La Nina and Gulf stream effects seem to be adding up to being a cold winter again.

I just hate the thought of having a dull "average" winter. I want something interesting to happen like huge snowfall or extreme temperatures.

I'm hoping for an inch of snow and traffic chaos across the country as clueless ***** omg omg omg about how it's a nightmare to get anywhere because they're snowed in.

Climate of win = 30c summers, -5c winters, like clockwork. Far better than we have because everyone is far more prepared, and its far more interesting.

We just get 'meh' all year round.

From some of the stuff that I've read, it'll be cold, but dry. (All taken with a pinch of salt mind)

So same as last winter (last winter was below average precipitation wise)?:p

+1

That wouldbe my ideal too.

This winter is going to be tough here, the temperature might drop below 60F a few times :(

That said over Christmas I'm planning to ski in the morning at Big Bear then drive to Malibu and surf in the afternoon, so that should be pretty sweet  :p

Really hoping for loads of snow, makes the drive to work much more interesting. Just hope my talent doesn't run out and no-one else manages to crash into me.

I don't mind the cold but as much as I love snow I would prefer very little settles. It causes way to much hassle and makes travel a pain. I am quite happy driving on snow but the overall chaos on the roads is too much.

We were at our house in Austria last December for Christmas. Boxing day morning I was up around 5am and temps outside read -24. The world was pure, sparking lily-white outside, never seen anything like it. Had some left over mulled wine, lit the fire place and pulled out a good book. I was happy.

Hoping for tons of snow this winter. Have quite a few skiing trips planned.

Freaking cold already

Not going to use my car if it snows though, it's mid-engined and is running summer tyres, meaning it won't even make it out of the drive due to the slope.
If it does snow and I do make it out of the drive then I'll go to the local car park for some fun :)
