A fair bit of snow comedown in Hertfordshire trains have been cancelled but roads seem fine at the moment, BBC saying heavy snow from 1pm until 5pm I hope they are wrong
Loads of it in London this morning, drove the wife to work and caught a tube in (she's terrified of driving in snow). Caught a Piccadilly in from Barons Court, the trains were absolutely heaving and few and far between.
Life's awesome, mostly everyone is sticking to the main roads so for us more capable with 4wd and proper tyres we are getting to work even quicker than normal
My God, I work at a small family run company and the daughter is already trying to get her excuses in to go home early because of the dangerous conditions.
Took a hour to get to work as none of the roads had been gritted and a women in a 4x4 kept throwing the backend out when trying to move off and blocking both sides of the road. Still coming down bad here, work might close early so we can get home.
I feel that many people here are not taking the Beast from the East as described by the BBC very seriously. Don't you know if the BBC says something then it has to be taken with due reverence after all the BBC are a trusted organisation and do not pander to populism. If the BBC feels the need to tell us how to keep warm and how to walk on icy surfaces please take heed when the snowpocalypse, not my word, befalls us.
I failed to get to work this morning. Took an hour to get less than two miles down the road due to people sliding in every direction, didn't even make it to the bypass! Took the decision and turn back home and took another 45 minutes - sod that!
