Been snowing heavily non stop for hours here now, red weather warning just been issued so getting home from work should be fun....if they ever let us leave.

Was supposed to be having the concrete poured today for the foundations of our extension. Would be a bit treacherous with snow covered clay so we've called it off.

This is what gets me, when we make the effort to get into work in these conditions, due to all the snow flakes phoning in because they can't get in despite living 5 minutes around the corner from work, so the ones that make the effort have to work longer hours.
Im expecting to have to work a longer day today.

Email has just gone around at work telling people in our London offices they can go home if they speak to their managers. Slight over reaction! :D

@TonyTurbo78 you were right - the closer we get the more the snow seems to dance around us and completely avoid this area. It was supposedly hammering down from 6am tomorrow until well into Friday, now we might not see much at all according to the BBC.

thats not what I've heard. They saying we couild get up to 15cm in the south over the next 2 days. West End showing as constant snow all Thursday and all Friday, heavy at times in winds.

I wouldn't trust the BBC much. The forecast for where I am says heavy snow showers from midday until about 5pm. Yet it's been sunny outside all day.
The Met Office seems more realistic - sunny intervals. However, it remains very cold outside, below freezing - despite the sun, the snow isn't receding much.

Fortunately mrs HB and I are off this week. But I get text and email alerts from the commuter coach service and at 5am this morning they text to say they were not running any services at all to London.

We ventured out yesterday to the shops and had to help a mini in the village. Fortunately we have a proper 4x4 so it took it all in it’s stride.

It’s mrs HB birthday today, we had planned to go to bluewater shopping centre for a movie and food but we’ve decided against it!

Supposed to be travelling to Bath for the Mrs birthday on Saturday, no cancellation option on the hotel so fingers crossed things start to clear up

Anyone laughing their ass off at the media over this snow? You’d think it was the ice age. The snow was worse in 2009/2010 compared to this and even then not much different to the 80s.

Dont they both go hand in hand?
