01:30 and a bit of a blizzard going on here in Edinburgh though not sure if new snow is actually falling or if the dry lying stuff is being blown about in the very strong winds.

Probably new stuff - red alert and some pretty serious snow depths across the central belt there for snow over the next couple of days.

Damn I have furniture and a TV due to be delivered, I doubt that will happen this week now, oh well.
My cat Millie is not really happy with all this snow as she likes to do whatever it is cats do at night but not in this weather and I keep getting that look that only a cat can give that it must be my fault.

whatever it is cats do at night

Judging from what I see coming home from work in the early hours it mostly seems to be stalking imaginary prey and occasionally fighting each other or picking a fight with a fox/badger just for the **** of it.

They have just cancelled all bus services in Edinburgh which is strange as we have, in the past, had far more snow lying with a pretty much full service. Perhaps it is the wrong sort of snow this time around?

Chuck out some bread etc for the birds if you have loads of snow coverage and how about checking on any elderly neighbours to see if all is,well and perhaps seeing if they need anything from your local shops.

Snowing in earnest now here but its so dry and powdery and wind so strong its just drifting til its caught against something.

Went to work yesterday, took an hour to get there (normally 15 minutes) then we decided to close 2.5 hours in. Looking out the window now. nothing is moving, still snowing. Loving it. Very rare we get a good amount of snow, so nice to have some for a few days.

Children love it.

Well, it's settled so anything that falls is just going to pile up because it's so damn cold. Not due to leave for work until about half 10, more concerned about getting stuck there :p

My son's special school has closed for two days rather than risk transport issues for the children and some live in different counties.

My daughter's secondary school have decided to open today but update at lunchtime, with a notice to parents one hour before any closure. They asked that parents have plans in place should the need arise. That won't go well on past experience of short notice (weeks or so) closure.

The end of the world is near, white stuff has stuck to the roads in Bitterne overnight! ;)

-5C out there before wind chill, so lucky that I'm now on annual leave until Monday 12th and so glad we didn't risk an early visit to Center Parcs.

Just back from the paper shop which would have been a wasted journey except I love walking in 8-10 inches of snow. I thought my bank robbing outfit was the most suitable attire.

Bournemouth have snow. Hell does get it occasionally. On a plus note I'm set up in my study with a pot of coffee on
