I swear when i checked yesterday it says 100% snow, now it's like 50-60% and high of 4c?

Suddenly i am feeling much better.

I really wouldn't get hopes up either way at the moment - anything beyond 2-3 days is correction after correction at the moment.

So anyone actually have at least one flake of snow stick in the latest "Snow-pocalypse?"

Just took this photo outside my house (Rochester). Maybe 1-2cm, forecast says snow all night so might have a touch more in the morning.

Just as I was taking that photo, that car skidded wide and nearly went into my car, so I quickly went outside to check how close he got.

Sadly way too many drivers seem to have the attitude of "Council would have closed the road if it wasn't safe to drive like a muppet as I normally do" rather than take some **** responsibility and drive appropriate to the conditions.

I would not park there…..you'l lose more than a wing mirror, again.
Think I would be moving my car away from that bend...

There's not a lot of choice on my road...not many places to move it where it wouldn't be over someone's drive, or sitting near a junction, where it's just as at risk. For now, I've just moved it back a car length, so it's sitting over my driveway; at least it's a bit more breathing space if anyone else comes around a bit wide.

Looking at his tyre marks, it doesn't even look like he skidded wide. Young guy in a Corsa, I think he was looking at his phone or something and then just looked up and realised he was heading for my car. The mind boggles how anyone could be negotiating a curve at night in fresh snow and think that's a good time to take your eyes off the road

conscript, move your car man, thats making me so uneasy haha

I guarantee come this time tomorrow evening, BBC weather will have changed all these snow symbols to rain or just cloud ;)

I know it’s a bit of a dick move, but I’d be tempted to park it on the grass / pavement. It looks very likely to get hit there :(

That’s crazy, I’m not too far from you and only flakes I’ve got are made by Kellogg’s.

There was nothing here at all an hour ago...fell asleep on sofa, just woke to drag my ass to bed and we have a good covering..coming down very steady at the min but sky is full of it

Theres been about half an inch here. Which happened to be while I was out and about so a bit uh, interesting. Had some wheelspins here and there but nothing too serious. The worst thing was the gritters which have out and about like lunatics for months on end even when it rained just a few hours later... are nowhere to be seen and havn't been for a couple of weeks now as a result when we actually get a bit of snow the roads were sheets of white. Yes even the main road. Not a drop of grit to be seen anywhere. It didn't last for long but if it had continued I think the entire town would have ground to a halt honestly.

Cue question about what tyres you have on and do you really expect roads to be perfect when it’s snowing...;)

Get better tyres, and an inch of snow is not a problem.

They were gritting like maniacs here Saturday and Sunday nights when it was so dry it wasn't even managing a frost despite the temperatures - tonight its managing a little ice and the first realistic chance of any snow (not that there is any) and complete absence of any gritting.
