Edinburgh is only Amber warning now though isn't it?

Looking at Met Office, the only red warning is around Exeter, Taunton and Cardiff

I'm a few miles outside Exeter and it's coming down quite steadily now. Wind is causing it to swirl around and as it's so powdery it's not really settling much yet. Maybe 2cm tops.
Imagine it will be a different story in a few hours!

In a red area in South Wales, still sitting at about 3 inches and barely any snow falling at all for now.

Just had a look on the radar and it looks like the band that hit Exeter about an hour ago is heading our way

Snow in Southampton has been somewhat frustrating. Woke up this morning at 06:30 to a complete white scene. The snow was quite light until 9am, then stopped for a while but been snowing now since 11am and it hasnt stopped. Yet it's this rubbish powdery stuff, sky is thick with it, has been for the last 3 hours. yet just won't build up to any decent amounts.

Picture doesn't really pick up on the sheer amount of snow that's falling, but believe me, it's coming down really hard, but like I said, it's this rubbish fine stuff.

Got to work and got told we could have a half day, meant to leave at 3.45, got a text from a colleague saying it was pelting down here so left at 2. Glad I did, roads are treacherous bar the M27. Fair amount on the ground now and coming down heavily.

We had snow flurries off and on all day yesterday and gave up trying to clear the path and road after the third time. Before we left for Inverness to see the Classic Rock show (which was bloody brilliant) we had around 6 inches ying and a foot or so where it had drifted. Between here and Fogwatt the roads were pretty bad but fine if you took your time. Got to Elgin which is 16 miles north of us and they had barely had a dusting. Between there and Inverness there was nothing at all. We came out of the concert at 22.25 to find no snow still but it was down to -2.5 degrees this had dropped to -7 by Nairn but bear Scotland were out gritting the A96 although it didn't really need it at this end. Got to Alves and they had a light dusting which got to around a inch at Elgin with -5.5 degrees. This is where things got treacherous because we were now on roads that Moray Council are responsible for and gritting stops at 18.30 now due to council cutbacks. This policy is going to get somone killed sooner or later because the roads were lethal between Elgin and Aberlour and only passable with extreme care. Still had some ****** in a 4x4 right up our bumper until he had a "moment" trying to overtake us. Bloody 4wd drivers think they are invincible!! The worst bit of the journey was the last few hundred meters as we had more heavy snow when we were away and it was 10-12 inches deep so we struggled to get through it but we prevailed in the end.

We haven't had anymore snow today but it is very cold at -5.2 degrees with a nasty Easterly wind giving us a windchill of -15.7 degrees at times.

More snow than i've ever seen in my life in North Essex!

Massive 5 foot high drifts across roads around my rural office, with around 8-10" of snow on the ground!

Main roads are ok, but where they're open to fields either side the wind has whipped up drifts on one side of them resulting in a lot of snow on the road, almost undriveable at anything more than 5mph, unless you're in a decent 4x4! Our work pick up truck (Ford Ranger has spent a lot of time with TC off as the roads are so quiet :p)

Apparently the worst of the snow is due to high this afternoon/tomorrow, so really interested to see how things are going to look for the weekend!

Meant to be heading to Berlin for work on Sunday from Stansted!

Weird, because there's nothing in Swansea or Port Talbot.

I keep hearing stories of road closures and massive snow warnings but all we've had is a few spells of flakes in the air and low temps. There was talk of sending staff home half-day but that's died a death.

After all the hype I just want snow dammit

Too far west I believe from the reports I’ve seen. From Exeter the band is moving slightly North East so it won’t touch you unless there’s a change in wind direction.

Half day at work today with full pay, cant complain :D It's been constantly snowing here near Stafford, main roads are ok for now.

I felt like a right spoon not coming into work when most people managed it. Now though I'm feeling a bit smug as they have to try to get home in this and I've had and will continue to have a productive day at home!

Driving down from Derby to London at ~4pm today, hopefully it's alright! M1 looks fine on the live cameras you can watch.

I take it back what i said 45 minutes ago, absolutely hammering it down in Southampton now. I guess this is the main bit we were told oukd arrive at 11am. Wish we had this every year.
