Winter 2020/2021

Crazy - though probably won't last long but it would get me my fix :(

Though colder here than forecast not even a hint of snow.

EDIT: Arpege even has a small spot nearish Runcorn with >7cm/hour.

Its been snowing now in Macclesfield
Open your window. If you can hear someone shouting, that's me. ;-)

I've just spent half an hour clearing this ice/snow combination off bamboo and various stuff in the garden that was iced up then snowed down with 2" of proper sledging snow... horrible, damaging mixture. I've cleared what I can off our plastic, almost flat conservatory roof as well.

Bin day tomorrow. Praying for rain... which isn't what I was saying six hours ago when squelching across the lawn clearing up after the dog.

At least the lights I left up are earning their keep.

Its been snowing now in Macclesfield ( south of manc ) for about an hour and roads already very nasty.... no gritters etc... all the weather info saying "rain"... erm there is like 4cm of snow already and showing no signs of stopping.

Saw that on the news the report was supposed to be about the risk of the river flooding but more noticeable was the snow falling thickly looked a good couple of inches. Sigh.

Yeah, started about 8pm and it's only just stopped. I'm about 10 miles away from Macc and we've got a good 2 inches which has stuck.

Just went for a wander down to the Mersey and the level is higher than I've ever seen. Another foot and it'll be over the top and flooding the bus station.

Interestingly one of the Canadian models shows moderate to heavy snow over the weekend for almost all of the UK... except where I live. Though the BBC is showing 3 hours of snow showers and a brief patch of heavy snow here early Sunday morning.

I'll believe it when I see it though.

EDIT: Arpege isn't in agreement though and so far it has been fairly accurate when it comes to UK snow.

This is my forcast for the weekend and like yourself i'll believe it if i see it,
i've had snow forcasted a few times since i moved here but it's always fell as rain, think it might be because i'm next to the beach

Didn't realise it would be that frosty as it didn't seem that cold this morning but skidded doing a slight turn at a roundabout! Got a graze and ripped my lycra a bit but just a bruised ego.

Met Office now have a snow and ice warning in Southampton (and many other areas south of Manchester) from 1600 today until 1800 on Sunday, apparently we might get "freezing drizzle" at ~0700 on Sunday according to Weather Underground.

Not had a flake of snow here.

Actually been a lovely day here today. Sunny and cold. Makes a change to the rain

Same but did hit afew showers, nice ish imbetween and the sun's gaining a little strength, slight snow chance tonight but probably not
Edit /heavy hail at home now

Loads of vehicles came off the road in the early hours on the road I came back from work last night - it didn't feel that bad but it iced up badly apparently. Was a really nasty puddle as well which probably didn't help.

Forecast has backed off the snow here (unsurprisingly) though it still looks like conditions are ripe for ice around the time I'm coming home Saturday night/Sunday morning :( I think the forecast was snorting something though as it was showing -10C yesterday now back to a more likely -3C.

Again I'll believe it when I see it and the BBC, etc. have been downgrading it, but the Arpege (which has so far tended to be correct) is showing a fair band of snow passing over Somerset and Dorset through Sunday with temperatures on a knife edge but coming off a significant overnight cooling.

Forecast keeps changing :( seems somewhere around here will see some snow somewhere between a dusting and moderate but specifics seem to be all over the place.
