Winter 2022/23 - It's too cold :(

When it's this cold it just gets a bit annoying. All football matches called off at grass roots level for kids over the last couple of weeks. No training either. Even on 3/4G artificial pitches they get called off. You get schools closing at the slight drop of snow. Can't do any outside jobs as it's just too cold. Can't work on the car easily. I really hate both the rain and cold now. I just seem to keep putting off all jobs until spring now.

Tomorrow's the last day of this properly cold weather for now. Will be sad to see it go.
- only problem is Sun/mon/tue are overcast rain/snow even if it's 5C+ ... sunday was originally meant to be sunny.

Not the clearest but shows the extent of snow over the last little while more or less
pictures look (too) good but are seemingly surgically enhanced / cgi with compositing of multiple images
we should have our own with the new satellite https://www.esa.int/ESA_Multimedia/Videos/2022/12/MTG-I1_lifts_off

Very cold again last night -10C, we cook on gas(not mains) ...stopped working due to the cold, loss of pressure from the outside bottle.
Hot water wasted to defrost the cylinder and reg.

Last very cold night tonight I hope.

After the tropical 0.9 degrees C we briefly reached yesterday we are back to -7 so apart from a couple of hours yesterday we have been below zero day and night for over a week now. At least we didn't have any fresh snowfall last night which is the first snow free night for a week.

the distinct lack of snowy pictures is making me sad. get them pics posted so i can see what i'm missing out on!!

This is by far the longest I’ve seen one burst of snow settled without melting.
Totally agree with this! Still got 3 inches on the Merc.

Interestingly I've spotted a lot of new builds with no snow on the roof which is concerning!

It started to snow 27th Nov 2010 as my friend went into labour with her 1st born. She was panicking about getting to the hospital in time.

Then we had snowfalls all throughout winter and still had snow mid March.

That winter certainly dragged. Even asked colleagues would anyone want any unpaid leave. Which suited me fine as was moving into my flat at the time.

Still very wary of slipping on ice. Think once you have done this, the wariness never goes away. Was messaging a colleague and she slipped when putting the bins out and still scared of slipping 7 years later.

No snow here unfortunately. But we haven't had snow since I've lived here.

I do like this weather. You can actually do stuff. Only negative is heating bill.

Not looking forward to the weekend (Sunday) weather! Lashing rain and wind.

It hasn't got that cold here - 3 is the min.

But has meant I have to check my chickens water each morning and sometimes have a frozen solid egg!

Night before last it was -12C in the Brecon Beacons, thought it would have been colder with you.
