Winter 2022/23 - It's too cold :(

Yeah we had it about half an hour ago.

Sky went black, constant rumbling and lots of flashes in the sky, then the rain and bug chunks of hail came down.

I think we are going to have a very hard winter, the jet stream isn't pushing powerful wind storms across us into siberia which it usually does.

I don't believe it for a moment, sorry. Its ridiculously mild at the moment I had trouble sleeping last night its so humid 19c in late october is just wrong.

Had a hell of a thunderstorm first thing this morning then again late afternoon, holy crap it came down in buckets and the flashes, well lets just say if you were outdoors you ducked when they were overhead. Biggest storms I've seen in a long time and the biggest this year by far.

Yeah same here albeit lower overall temps as it's 10oC outside overnight.

It was 16oC inside this morning and, now with no heating on, it has raised to 17.5oC

There was condensation on the outside of the windows this morning which is a good sign as it shows not much heat is being lost through the windows.

It was 18c at 10pm this evening and that was outdoors. Aaaaaand its chucking it down again. Its about time actually its been perpetual blue skies and sunshine for weeks now you wonder whatever happened to autumn gales wind and rain its been a very strange year alround.

It is hard to believe but there is some decent cold starting to develop over the Arctic so everything still to play for. After the last few years difficult to get hopes up over tentatively positive signs though.

Had to laugh at this one

Unhappy face when you see it heh.

Also the end of the current runs shows the cold being displaced from the poles and quite significantly at that - though not traditional stratospheric warming - could have implications for the winter.

thunder and lightning here too on Sunday. I didn't notice high wind but yesterday morning my greenhouse had lifted up and moved 3feetwhich it has never ever done before even in gales.

not that am bothered. it's going to the recycling centre when I can be bothered taking down.

Outside currently doing some work, well sat down currently and the sun is burning my face. If there weren't leaves all over the ground you'd think it's July
