After the 40c nightmare that was this summer, I think I have a renewed appreciation for Autumn/ Winter.
Just a little update on the upcoming winter thoughts thread this morning. The CANSPS seasonal has updated. Now showing a cold December for Europe with high pressure dominating and by the looks of it, Scandinavian high. Could the ball be finally turning for coldies who knows. I still think it’s too early to make any assumptions. I think come mid November we might have an idea of how the pattern is forming up but still early days everything for grabs. Sorry for posting this here but thought it related to the above.
I bet kayaking can be pretty good fun in the winter though ? I have a hooded 5/4 excel wetsuit , even on big days Harlyn or Towan will be surfable ( north facing) plus the surf schools are always out so it's a good vibe and company if you get into trouble ( both these places tend to close out potentially slamming you into the gravel)Went out and enjoyed the sun on kayak on Sunday.
As we slip into grim winter I plan to properly look at emigration.
It sucks detesting 6 months of the year (and also where the UK is going). Wish we were still in the EU to make it easier!

“November and December look more settled with high pressure likely to dominate our weather. Exact weather conditions will be dictated by where the high pressure settles over the Atlantic and the UK, but we are likely to see a higher incidence of northerly airflows, preventing mild, moist air flowing to the UK from the Atlantic Ocean and increasing the potential for cold snaps with some threat of snow and ice, mainly in northern areas.
We’ve still not had much rain. It’s actually been one of the nicer Septembers and Octobers that I remember. That probably translates to a cold dry winter unless this trend changes. I’d actually prefer mild and wet.
Yep, still having to push the duvet off during the night 'cos it gets too warm.
