Winter 2022/23 - It's too cold :(

BBC forecast changed to sleet here now... UK Met still showing a chance of heavy snow over southern England into Wednesday evening/night but it mostly looks like damp snow.

I'm not really seeing the cold, other than higher areas to the north, though - not sure there will be much more than damp snow/sleet if that for most.

Been refreshing the met office site for where i'm travelling tomorrow - it's constantly changing - 4h of heavy snow... no snow but heavy rain... a couple of hours of sleet... 8 hours of light snow...

Thursday morning looking more problematic than tomorrow morning here.

Met Office upgraded here from light snow to heavy for 3 hours tommorow night.

Yup, just noticed that. Curious to see what we get. Can see it being just enough to cause issue, but not enough to shut things.

Met showing heavy snow from 3am to 7am here now, and a bit of light snow through to 9 - while BBC still saying sleet, other forecasts mostly erring towards sleet or rain.

Oh wow - I looked out the window a few minutes ago was rain - looked out again now and there is an inch of snow on the ground WTF.

EDIT: If this keeps up anything like until 7-8am we'd have a foot of snow by the morning - ridiculous amount coming down.

Can't really get photos in the dark - quick grab off the CCTV:

It's probably going to be short lived down here, rain will come in mid morning I reckon. Completely white out the window currently though.

Met office useless at predicting, first it was heavy snow for all Wednesday, then rain, then snow then rain.

Trying to snow but hitting the ground its melting straightaway way to wet.

Definitely more sleet right about now I'd say @Rroff was more accurate then the Met

BBC actually forecast was pretty good so far.

We've got about an inch here - most of which built up in the first 20 minutes or so - weirdly didn't thicken much after that despite snowing fairly hard.

Weird patchy as well - there are spots all over where there is nothing despite a general covering for no rhyme or reason.

Morning commuter traffic starting now and already seen several people who've just scraped themselves a peep hole and left the rest of the car covered :(

Getting a weird mix of hail/frozen rain, sleet and snow coming down now.

Weather reports useless as usual but the ever reliable Google traffic shows a buttload of snow on ground in Hampshire/Surrey/Kent. RIP Kent m25 commuters this morning.

Road through my village is clear already - glad I'm not going into work today as they went to town on salting it.

Am I missing an obvious feature on Google maps? I can see areas of heavy traffic with the traffic layer on but where are you seeing conditions? :p
