Winter 2022/23 - It's too cold :(

As an example, it seems only the budget stores stock the 3LTR Pepsi Max bottles but sometimes it has a really nasty taste as if it's cheap or gone off but it's always been in-date. Is it possible they give their 'bad batches' to these shops?
Yes, me and others have noticed the same. Maybe anecdotal, but once I bought some cans of brand Coke from Sainsbury and one of the discount stores. Think it was home bargains. There was a big difference in taste.

I don't think it's anything to do with bad batches. The discount store version tasted watered down. I believe they actually do have a higher ratio of water to ingredients for cost savings. It's the same deal with Pepsi and pretty much anything.

Are you saying a week in advance is early? You can do it 4 weeks before. I would say you're leaving it quite late?

Yeah - I always book mine weeks in advance - good thing to as the last one I had a vehicle in for MOT and service and they did the service and forgot to MOT it LOL - fortunately they offered to pick up and drop it off for the MOT and knocked £10 off as an apology.

I'm so glad it's not just me that's realised this :p

These knock off shops definitely sell manky Pepsi etc. Looks like you're getting a bargain buying a 500ml bottle for 49p or whatever but it tastes like gone off Happy Shopper own brand value cola. It's absolutely grim.

On another note.. snow in a few days :o

Probably non-UK stock which has been imported or "imported". Quite a few things taste or smell, etc. differently in official versions of products intended for other regions - probably made cheaper.

Went to wipe the water off the side windows of the car and it was frozen rain, yeah I know frozen rain is called ice but it just looked like rain drops
Edit getting fed up of the cold just want to forget the heating and see my bannana plants take off (not literally)

Coke, Pepsi and other fizzy drinks have never tasted the same to me after consuming US versions that contain High Fructose Corn Syrup. All other market versions seem like "knock offs".

The comparisons I made between the Sainsbury and Home Bargains Coke were both UK made. I've repeated the test a couple of times with other discount store bought Cokes (and Pepsi), and they definitely appear watered down. The tests were done at the same time, so a swig of each can.

There is however a Netherlands version of Pepsi that seems very watered down, and sometimes they can be found in discount stores.

The only people who won't get to work in poor conditions is teachers.

In the snow of 82 or there about the wife and I got to work at 8.00 and by 11.00 all us blokes had cleared the yard to get all vans out -got to first customer and she said where have you been you were supposed to be here at 9.00 I am going shopping with my mates - I said it must be nice not having to work - OH she said I am a teacher and snow is so deep we couldn't get there ??????? - That job lasted all day just to make sure she couldn't go out

Could be interesting for us in the South Wednesday...Light snow forecase tomorrow in Soton, then heavy most of Wednesday morning.

They cant get any models right can they. Dont think i be following the science on this one either. They been saying this for last 3 month or so and it still not been. Yes bound to be right at one time then they will gloat and spout climate change just like in summer.

Windy.com showing interesting things like 14cm of snow in the next 3 days .... yikes.

Conditions seem right for it - lots of cold polar air hanging about, and a warm front pushing in northwards from the atlantic

i guess It doesn't help that there's basically no heating in my work area so its been between 2 degrees to maybe 10 degrees ,then in the summer the exact opposite and it turns in to an oven, basically i have turned in to a southern softie

Teachers don’t live in the village of the school anymore.

My parents’ neighbours are teachers and one works the other side of the county and the other works in the next county.

My friend is a teacher at a school in a posh town. She lives 45 miles from the school. As house prices are £80-100k more in the town and surrounding areas

Problem is there’s a maximum ratio of teachers to students. Plus buses don’t turn up.

I knew that when it snowed or very cold overnight, there was no point in going to the school bus stop as bus never turned up. If it never turned up in the morning, there would be no bus after school. For my parents it would be 44 miles to drive 4 journeys. The buses we had were old and parked outside.

Where did you live that meant your school was at least 11 miles away?
