Winter 2023/24 - It's FREEZING!

My daughter's rabbit hutch just bought it. Flipped over upside down in the garden and broke the legs and floor off. Buns were already safely housed in the garage so they're fine.

It was a big double-storey thing that weighed a ton, so we assumed it'd be fine as it's survived all the high winds over the last 5 or so years, but not this time.

I've solved the winter issue in the car.

Nothing like as bad so far as the BBC was making out for this area. One sketchy bit out driving earlier where the road went over the top of an exposed hill with a lot of standing water and if I hit a puddle at the same time as a gust of wind hit me I got the traction warning light up :s rest has been pretty tame so far.

Howling here for the last couple of hours, be carnage around here tomorrow. (Mid Wales 5 miles from the coast)

The cynical part in me suspects the council don't want you to crush them because you can fit more in the bins that way. They probably pay the contractor by weight.
Yet the compactor in the bin lorry crushes the recycling!

It’s like Slimming World say eating a banana whole is free yet a mashed up one has syns! The banana ends up mashed up in your stomach!

Just drove back from the gym, branches down all over the place and a lot of standing water. Supposed to be 50mph gusts until about midnight then calm down a bit.

Wheelie bin blew over. Problem is if I left the bin in an area where it’s less likely to get knocked over, bin men won’t empty it.

The bin men here are lazy and petty

Are the binmen coming overnight? If not why can't you move it in the morning assuming it's being collected tomorrow?
