Whereabouts are you?Wind sounds like a jet engine at the moment - just a constant roar. Really ramped up in the last 20 mins or so. Lights/power flicking on/off. Hard to imagine there won't be some trees down overnight.
Sorry to hear that. I'm not looking forward to checking my fence in the morning. The trellis on top usually gets taken out because of all the foliage hanging off it. But at least I did have the sense to repair a bit of weak fence a few weeks ago. I suspected the next storm would take the whole lot down with it if I didn't.Bit of fence just bought it. Had to cut it back a bit more to brace the rest. Car alarms galore going off a bit earlier too. Hoping it starts to ease soon or there’ll be some serious damage - if there isn’t already. North Antrim coast here so quite exposed.
Good luck. I don't envy you. I have a few tall trees by my house and I was a little worried, although we have it much milder down here. If it were me I would probably sleep downstairs just in case.Defcon Red
BREAKING Rare red warning for 100mph gusts issued
The Met Office has issued a red weather warning for wind in an area of northern Scotland - saying gusts of 90 to 100 mph are likely for a brief time, bringing a risk of damage, disruption and a danger to life.
The warning - the highest issued by the Met Office - is in place for 01:00 to 05:00 and says there will be a short spell of extremely strong winds.
It affects parts of Aberdeenshire, Moray and Highland - north and east of Inverness.
Our house is completely surrounded by trees, debating whether (lol) to go to sleep at all until it passes.
Bit of a blessing to be honest, that bit was due for removal any way. Just happened a bit sooner than expected - and having to do it in gales was, interesting. Had to enlist the wife to help hold it while I cut the arris rails back close to the next upright. Not sure how much she enjoyed thatSorry to hear that. They have come as early as 6:15am before! Mondays are usually the day I don't bother with alarm clock,Are the binmen coming overnight? If not why can't you move it in the morning assuming it's being collected tomorrow?
