Roof tiles on the house getting lifted and moved currently keeping me awake. 50mph+ gusts here and our house is quite exposed.
Hopefully nothing actually comes off the roof this time.

The house is making some great noises, anxiety inducing noises. Very glad I had the roof fixed a few weeks ago.

Don't think we've lost anything yet, local recorded speeds on the bridge are average 48mph and gusting to 69mph.

Hopefully the chicken coop doesn't take off.

Wind sounds like a jet engine at the moment - just a constant roar. Really ramped up in the last 20 mins or so. Lights/power flicking on/off. Hard to imagine there won't be some trees down overnight.

Luckily there's barely a whisper here at the moment. That being said, I,m currently 80% deaf in my left ear and 60 % deaf in the other. Doctor had me put drops in my ear to clear ear wax and they,ve done the opposite :(

It's quietened down a little bit in Surrey. There are still some big gusts but not like it was earlier. The forecast said it would peak at about 1am but it might have moved on a little earlier than expected. But we shall see how it goes over the next hour.

Bit of fence just bought it. Had to cut it back a bit more to brace the rest. Car alarms galore going off a bit earlier too. Hoping it starts to ease soon or there’ll be some serious damage - if there isn’t already. North Antrim coast here so quite exposed.

BREAKING Rare red warning for 100mph gusts issued

The Met Office has issued a red weather warning for wind in an area of northern Scotland - saying gusts of 90 to 100 mph are likely for a brief time, bringing a risk of damage, disruption and a danger to life.
The warning - the highest issued by the Met Office - is in place for 01:00 to 05:00 and says there will be a short spell of extremely strong winds.
It affects parts of Aberdeenshire, Moray and Highland - north and east of Inverness.

Our house is completely surrounded by trees, debating whether (lol) to go to sleep at all until it passes.

Sorry to hear that. I'm not looking forward to checking my fence in the morning. The trellis on top usually gets taken out because of all the foliage hanging off it. But at least I did have the sense to repair a bit of weak fence a few weeks ago. I suspected the next storm would take the whole lot down with it if I didn't.

Good luck. I don't envy you. I have a few tall trees by my house and I was a little worried, although we have it much milder down here. If it were me I would probably sleep downstairs just in case.

Bit of a blessing to be honest, that bit was due for removal any way. Just happened a bit sooner than expected - and having to do it in gales was, interesting. Had to enlist the wife to help hold it while I cut the arris rails back close to the next upright. Not sure how much she enjoyed that

Some trees down around here but nothing major I'm aware of. Due to wind direction most came down parallel or only partly into the road. One house locally lost their roof but largely aside from some twigs and the odd recycling bin blown around very little damage.

The previous storm was much more stormy despite lesser forecast on the BBC for the area.

I stupidly didn't take my windscreen protector off my car. Just seen there are now two wing mirror covers but the rest of it has vanished

I had a feeling I shouldn't cycle to work today, however my worries were unwarranted and the cycle to work was blustery but nothing unmanageable.

By 18:00 tonight there is an increased chance of blustery weather with gusts up to 40mph and a steady 20mph flow.

Tomorrow appears to be worse with similar gusts however in the morning the steady flow of wind will be much lower at 7mph but to expect much more rain.
