Winter 2023/24 - It's FREEZING!

I opened the windows this morning to give the place an airing... It's amazing how much of a difference this makes especially with humidity.

House dropped from 17oC/62% to 15oC/54%
Bedroom dropped from 16oC/67% to 14oC/57% (for some reason the whole house, both upstairs and down, works off the Living Room thermostat but the master bedroom has its own separate heating circuit and thermostat)

That was over a 20 min period.

The bedroom would have been higher humidity due to being occupied all night. Amazing how much moisture people can put out in a few hours.
 
not read whole of this thread but a lot of lightweights on this forum :p . our heating is still not on yet and I am just starting to think about if it is time to go back to long trousers. have not worn long trousers since end of march ;)

No heating here yet but as I've said before being single I don't have to worry about others so a heated throw on the settee but the sun is still getting the room up to 21c .
Glad I topped up the oil when it was near 50p a litre for when the cold kicks in

By far the coldest day of Autumn/Winter 23/24 so far with a temp of only 5.6 degrees C and a strong Northerly wind giving us a nasty windchill on top. Brrrrrr!!
 
Definitely colder tonight and it's forecast to hit 3c tonight.

Oops, -1c was the "feels like" temperature.

Yeh, winter has arrived, switched on the boiler today in anticipation of turning the CH on later. :(

Well it's warm enough for al.feesco fine dining TBF though I have my wollly hat on but the sun is still strong (and yes vegan)

Given you haven't read the whole thread yet, I'll assume you also haven't taken a person's location into account when it comes to calling some people lightweights?

Pray tell your location? So we can have a look at the local weather forecast (city will do)

Same here, finally woke up today and thought it was maybe trouser time, most of my trousers get little use these days as its always too warm but woke up and bedroom was 12c I thought what the hell.

as for location mixture of near Chester and near Cambridge.

wow am jealous. weather has been nice here today too but no local seaside sadly. off to Blackpool in a few weeks so expecting storms and freezing temps then.
strange weather tho we had flash flooding on Thursday with torrential rain along with high wind

You know, it's weird... I can sit this morning in the living room at 15oC no problem. But at night, doing the same thing, it feels cold... Not sure if it's psychological with the darker nights or something :confused:

No heating on here yet .. waiting for @bigmike20vt to tell me it's ok :p

It has been known for people to spot something in my pics and say, hey i thought you were supposed to be vegan so i light heartedly pointed it out
