Winter 2023/24 - It's FREEZING!

With no tumble drier and the heating off, I've been struggling to dry clothes on the airer for the last couple of weeks. I gave in and put the heating on for a couple of hours to dry most of the big things. I put the airer in a small room with the radiator on full, the window ajar and the door closed, then turned the rest of the radiators in the house to their lowest setting.

That's the bulk of the washing dry now, but I wanted to avoid putting the heating on just yet. I will consider this as a needed burst and hold out putting the heating on until about December, or just before.
All that faffing around, just buy a dryer, they’re not expensive.

Google weather suggests we'll only see 50mph winds peak, but it's certainly making a lot of noise out there!
I expect to see a few trees down in the morning

Looks like it's tracking further south as the models predicted and so away from the south coast and Kent should be fine

Wind has gotten steadily worse over the course of the evening we're under an amber warning for wind was nearly blowing me over an hour ago not much rain though we had plenty of that yesterday but its dry this evening. Its blowing so much though I'm expecting loose tiles to blow off and trees down tomorrow

Very quiet and calm in the eye of it now just the odd rain squall. We had those stormy gusts of wind which sound like they are roaring overhead but it was relatively tame stuff, I'm guessing won't be much different in the morning as the tail end of it passes over.

Oof roads closed due to fallen trees trains cancelled power outages all over still on here at least. Community school around the corner has announced they're staying closed today. Rain blattering down now
