And you wonder why not everyone is bashing one off over the cold weather. That's mental.
My Nov usage was 84p/day - no idea what its been in the last week though which would be higher but not double

And you heat the house all day, and it includes washing the dishes and showers. That's mental.

I think your usage is on the low side.
I'm in a 1960s built bungalow, well insulated but fairly large and when the outside temperatures remain below zero for a sustained period like we're seeing now our usage will be between 120-150 kWh per day. Over £15 per day at peak prices last year. Thankfully the log burner install in January this year has made quite a dent in the gas bill, though still looking at 60-70kWh per day this last week.
A dent in the gas bill but then how much are you spending on logs?!
Nothing other than my time fortunately, my brother does a bit of tree surgery so I help out on a few jobs and the logs end up on my drivewe've got a big beech and some apple trees already lined up for felling over the next month, they'll get split and stacked ready for winter 2025 as I've more than enough already for this winter and next.
Burner and install cost around £1200 as I did all the work myself and building control inspected during and after, the cost of the install will be more than covered before the end of this winter.
About £6 a day on gas atm. Detached, with lots of glass extension on the back. It would be higher if I didn't have the log burner running in evenings.Good insulation + Gas ^
I'm averaging £5 a day on a 1970's Bungalow, storage heaters, eco 7 no gas
Get a long fleece hoodie.Need this cold weather to ease asap. Literally cannot afford our gas usage when it's like this. I'm dreading the rest of winter.
The rental property that I had with my ex 20 years go had single glazing. Useless storage heating. We switched off the heating as we didn’t benefit from it. This was after we got our quarterly bill (we weren’t allowed to have a DD) for £350. Dread to think how much that’s now. That's nothing. Our gas usage is about £3 a day right now. Yay for old, poorly insulated rental properties.
How does putting a fleece on keep your house warm?Get a long fleece hoodie.
Hardly have the heating on. Put a thicker jumper or hoodie, make a hot drink. If still cold after this - then put heating on
Opposite for me.Are you one of those who wear a thick padded coat on top then shorts?
My legs get the cold first. So in the summer I don’t wear shorts unless it’s 24c plus
13.7cm of snow forecasted for Monday morning

I'm right on the beach front though so it'll probably just rain... (SW Wales)
