oh I don't mind the cold if I'm wrapped up warm, and it's sunny. I love skiing for example.

I just don't like being cold.

Same.
I see the wild swimmer nutters out in this. They get in. Spend a few mins freezing saying it isn't cold. Get out. Look cold. Dry off.. Look. Cold. Get in car.. Looking cold.

I'm in my wetsuit in summer! :D.

Seen a few on groups saying they are getting ill etc having issues (sounds dangerous) I think social media/competition/getting that pic.. Has got loads on the bandwagon

I do do some winter lake swimming - but I do it not to be a wimp. I hate it. I do do cold water therapy, but it's easy when you know you can get warm afterwards.

My diesel car never starts when its cold - have to charge the battery at the mains. Gone through 3 new batteries so I don't know what the problem is

I've done it. Usually on holiday and it actually feels epic afterwards.

I am definitely not a cold water swimmer i have a hooded winter wetsuit all year round, there was the sauna on baby beach Polzeath again today and they run down for a plunge in swimwear afterwards, no way, even though its still 12c in the ocean

Awful outside already.

I had a walk to Morrisons and took me 22 minutes a mile.... not including the time in the store.

then on the way home an even slower 26minutes per mile.

last 2 times I've fell over I've smashed my elbow up really bad, last time I fractured it and it only just healed fully after 4 months.

I don't know if it's the curse of being tall or what but it's a long way down when your around 6"3

still seeing deliveroo riders outside on bikes.... they mostly seem to be economic migrants so I wonder if they've ever seen this weather before.
People might be more likely to tip in this weather though so maybe it's worth the risk

It’s their living, probably don’t have a choice. Most people still go to work in bad weather

Freezing this morning, but I still wore shorts when I went shopping on my bike!

Was watching out for ice on side roads though, took it a bit slower than usual.

Get a long fleece hoodie.

Hardly have the heating on. Put a thicker jumper or hoodie, make a hot drink. If still cold after this - then put heating on

Already doing all that and then some. It's extremely hard to out compete an old building with really high ceilings, solid brick walls, and huge single pane sash windows. The thermostat is set at 17.5c and we lose roughly 1c every hour once the heating is off.

I've been trying to think of more efficient ways to run the heating (higher temps and longer off periods of higher flow temps), but even testing these ideas will probably cost than I can afford.

I ******* despise every single rung on the ladder that makes up our energy supply.

You should direct your anger at your landlord rather than the energy companies, assuming of course that the landlord can undertake measures to improve the property. If there are things the landlord can do but wont then complain about it and if still no joy then think about moving, easier said than done I know.

TBF I don't think my house is very efficient, came home it was 14 c boosted to 17c and it's back to 15c.
Had to turn this throw down though level 2 put of 4 and it's a volcano under there, not burning heating oil all night when house is dry
