Winter 2024/25 - Cold or Mild? Rain or Snow?

I'm south Liverpool and my garden has been white since Sunday. I travel up the 57 for work and by the time I get to Switch Island, everything is green! Annoyingly, it seems to have snowed every night, just at the perfect time in the early hours when the roads are dead so there's no traffic to clear the snow, ready to cause some rush hour chaos. I've been making the most of it and having an extra hour in bed to wait for it to quieten down.
Which is even weirder when the train line from Maghull to Ormskirk was so frozen they couldn't send trains up there 'til gone 3pm yesterday :D

Been raining all afternoon and lately its turned to snow! The cars been at the garage all day for service and MOT looks like they brought it back just in time. Theres a dusting on the grass and pavements going to be interesting heading off out tonight! Probably too warm to hang around long but going to be fun regardless . Kids are trying to make snowballs on the grass outside but theres not quite enough for that

Coming down quite thick now! Havn't seen this much constant snowfall in a long time even the road is getting slushy wonder if I'll be going anywhere tonight, boss won't be happy. Snowing heavily right across the county according to the local newspaper website traffic is grinding to a halt everywhere. Edit: A27 now impassable!

Not thawed much all day. Apart from walking the idiot I've been in front of the fire watching films all day. Just put the pan of leftover stew on to reheat for when the boss comes home.

The Met Office are predicting some really cold overnight temperatures tomorrow night, -16 ffs.

The roads are going to be like an ice rink.

Frustrating how patchy it is - road a couple of miles south of me has become unpassable except by 4x4 within an hour, here just sleet really though my truck has about a 1mm covering of snow.
