I can only assume bran isn’t as cordial as he appears and is actually under the influence of mr blue. Telling Jon was about creating a rift.

It’s that or bran is the deus ex machina, and that seems boring asf.

Assuming the imagery of the frozen iron throne is real, a dragon must survive and I kinda assume it’s the dead one that attacks it.

  • Interactions between Sansa and Denearys were lame.
  • The dragon riding scene was prettypointless and the special effects were shockingly ropey.
  • Euron Greyjoy is so annoying and imo out of keeping with the general vibe of the show.
  • Sam's delivery of Jon's big news was poorly done and felt very aniclimactic.
  • Bran's constant watching/stalking was hilariously bad.
  • Interactions between main characters in general were wooden and lacklustre. Gendry and Arya? Ugh.

Agree with pretty much all of this.
  • Sophie Turner has not developed well at all as an actress.
  • That dragon ride was awful. It just seemed completly out of place and then the dragons voyeuristically watching was odd.
  • The girlfriend and I were crying with laughter whenever Bran showed up. It just came across as unintentionally hilarious. Bran's like a kid who's just been to Creamfields, took to many drugs, dissapears and ends up back in the tent sitting in the corner talking in riddles.
  • The dialogue was iffy throughout.
  • I get that Bronn is a sellsword, but Cersei hiring him to take out Jamie and Tyrion felt a little out of place.
  • The ending was ****** cool.
I personally feel that the action scences have developed well over the series, but the dialogue has taken a downturn. It's definitely struggled to match earlier seaons in that regard.

I don’t think Bronn will even think about killing Jamie and Tyrion. Just knows it would be too risky to disobey Cersei.

And yet Cersei has been shown to be cunning and shrewd, she MUST surely be fully aware that Bronn wont kill Jamie and Tyrion (essentially his 2 best friends), which makes me think that its part of a plan she has hatched.

Here’s a fun idea - Jayme insta-kills Bran at the start of the next episode :p

:D

I'm worried this season is going to be compressed and feel too rushed due to the lack of episodes and amount of sub stories they will need to conclude

I'm not particularly, I mean if they'd wanted more episodes or even another series then I'm sure HBO execs would have loved to commission one, this thing is a money machine now after all. They've actively decided they only require so much time to finish off the story and it was just a toss up of a long season 7 or two shorter seasons 7 and 8. I guess there could be some bitching about time passing between episodes or within episodes after characters need to move across the map but we hardly need a multi episode journey along the kings road, with no significant events happening, in order to say get the characters to Kings Landing etc...

Meanwhile, Arya sneaked off and takes the Night King's face with her Valyrian dagger, which saves a fortune in battle special FX.

She's got something planned given the special weapon plans she handed to Gendry... I guess since she's got some serious skills now maybe she could be the one to take down the ice dragon or the night king or something.

I am a bit perplexed though, if the night king knows the future, why does he even bother?

I dunno if he does necessarily, perhaps he knows certain events etc.. I mean Jojen Reed who accompanied Bran had visions etc.. too and knew he was going to die. I guess Hodor knew his fate too.

Assuming the imagery of the frozen iron throne is real, a dragon must survive and I kinda assume it’s the dead one that attacks it.

Are you talking about Danny's vision in season 2? Yeah that does seem to imply that if it is real. Edit - I think there is a bit more to that vision too but I guess it is quite open to speculation and potentially getting into serious spoiler territory.

Random other fun thought... the mad king went mad because he had the Bran powers and it was the night king that was in his mind.

You can come up with all sorts of crazy things. So many characters.... it’ll be sad when it goes away because we’ll never have that raw excitement again :( :)

So, looks like Cersei is going to tell everyone that Euron is the father to her child.

Jamie gets a free pass from the obvious incest ridicule but grows a mega hatred for his sister because he knows that the child is his.

Bran becoming the night king through some time travel shenanigans seems more likely than ever. Although we haven’t seen much of Bran using his powers beyond some peeking at old events so expect either some serious Brantastic moments or more creepy riddles.

Jon vs Daenerys seems to be set to create fireworks. Sam will most likely be seen as the troublemaker by Daenerys after the “I killed your whole family moment lololololol”

Ahh yes, I forgot about Bronn. There is zero chance of him killing Jaime for gold based on how the series and their relationship has developed so far. They are comrades in arms and Bronn is as loyal to Jaime as he can probably capable of being to anyone other than Tyrion.

Bronn will be one of the heroes in the final battle, of that I am convinced. To do anything else would be a huge injustice to his character development over the years.

I’ve been assuming for a long time that we have a few betrayals yet to come, I always imagined Varys was working for the Others in opposition to Rhllor (sine it was the fire gods priest that burnt his bits). One has to also imagine Dany has a betrayal yet to come.

The way it played out for me felt a bit weird, with Sam telling Jon about his family and then dropping the news about him being the true heir to the throne as an after thought, almost coming across as though he was stirring up trouble rather than breaking a massive news revelation...

Daenerys to Jamie - "You murdered my father!"

Sam to Daenerys - "You murdered my father and brother!!"

Everyone has a good laugh and then they all tackle the Night King together.
