I don't know how anyone can watch that video and then still think that this final season did the show justice. Everything he covers in that amusing video is perfectly accurate. I also love how we're "raging" because we don't think that Season 8 was as good as the rest and that it's terrible that the writers simply couldn't be bothered to stay true to the characters and have any continuity whatsoever. It really surprises me that so many people are ok with how the show finished. I guess some just have really low standards, or are simply blind fanboys that don't want to hear anything bad said about the atrocious final season. My issues with it aren't how it ended i.e who sits on the throne etc. The throne is largely pointless now anyway. I do however have a big issue with so many story threads just simply being forgotten toward the end, to the point where they might as well have never mattered at all.

Sat next to James Cosmo on the tube just now, he's really tall.

Really wanted to say something whitty but he looked far from impressed.

Is the raging still going on. :D
Raging implies irrationality. But there is nothing irrational about watching something like this...
...and thinking that everyone working on the project deserved a less Marvellous ending. GoT was never a comic book, but it became one, sadly. A great comic book, perhaps, but still a shallow, pop-corny shadow of what it might have been if the writers had relented and sought some creative help.

Or....and here is the big one.
They just have different opinions to you?
That the people who are "OK with how the show finished" have no motives, despite you feeling they might and are, just, "OK with how the show finished"?
I mean, it is always possible you will be declared the official voice of this subject, and ocne that happens everyone with a different opinion will need to bow to that staus - but certainly at the moment, that isn't the case.

We all get that there are many bad bits and agree(to some extent) but I feel there were also some epic good bits that seem to get buried under all the frothing rage. ;)

Anyway I am done with GOT now, entire series 7/10 for me, great but could have been better, need to find a new show to watch. :p

You're more than welcome to enjoy something that's not very good, i'm not going to tell you to stop enjoying it. I love Revenge of the Sith but it's still a bad film.

To say that Season 8 did justice to the series though is objectively wrong.

- We had 7 seasons and 5 books before the last season that gave us an understanding of how characters act and think, to see them completely go against everything we learned about them in the space of 5 minutes is terrible writing.

- Jumping from major villain to another major villain 3 episodes in a row, after 7 seasons of build up with barely a word spoken about them after they're dead is terrible writing.

- Using plot armour and asinine battle tactics for the sake of 'the visual' is terrible writing.

- Not explaining anything about the NK and his motivations after 7 seasons of build up is terrible writing.

- Bronn being the Master of Coin is terrible writing.

These are just the broad complaints I, and so many others, have with season 8. You could go through episode by episode and write an essay about what was wrong with them but it's already been done to death.

This episode is still annoying me all this time later. :p

I know you're all perfectly capable of finding these things yourselves, but I'm starting to think it's for the best that D&D gave up thinking hard. Some of the work coming out of YouTube is genius! There are a couple of bits of this (Tyrion/Cersei & Bran's section) which would slot into the broadcast version effortlessly, spicing it up considerably.

lol nice
