Ever noticed that the enemy always seems to turn up to the wall at the exact place where the characters we're following happen to be? :D

That's 2 people now that pushed cersei to have the mountain kill them, she bottled it both times. I wonder who will kill her, has to be Jamie or tyrion surely?

I wasn't sure what happened there with Jamie tbh.
She gave the big man the nod and he drew his sword, then did nothing but let Jamie walk away.
Did I miss the part where she cancelled the order? Was the order even given?

'king A. Some people need to start using PMs cos no one else in the thread is remoptely interested in two idiots sniping at each other in a childish attempt to get the last word. one fo you likes the season, one of you doesn't - if you're that bothered about the other's stance you have very very sad lives.

how about a call to ban these two from the thread as they're filling it up w/ pointless infantile bickering no that hasn't gone anywhere in the past 20 posts beyond a spat fest about who can use quote tags.

Yes, you're absolutely correct. There has been zero discussion about the show itself. It's been purely about getting the last word and the correct use of quote tags.
I agree that's it's all very tedious and a tad childish, but if you're going to get involved way after it's all over and call for bans, then you need to get your facts straight before calling other people idiots.

What I don't get is Jaime asked Cersei to give the order to the mountain....she nods her head to the mountain and m draws his sword..Jaime then turns round looking shocked and upset saying he doesn't believe her....and walks past m and away..

Why didn't the mountain kill him? It looked to me he had been given the order?

Thought it was an adequate finale. Probably the weakest we've had but definitely one of the better episodes of the season (and infinitely better then last weeks).

It all just felt a bit 'meh'. Had some really big moments in it that suffered more as a result of poor set up rather then execution. It's how I've felt about the whole season to be quite honest.

I don't really care that much now. The obsessive hold it had over me has started to dwindle (to be honest, it started back in season 5). There's fewer and fewer episodes that leave me with anything to think about. Character motives are really out of place, there's very little set up for some of the bigger moments, some of the book changes just feel completely nonsensical and the writing in general has gotten exceptionally poor in some places.

I don't really know what D&D are doing. Either they don't care as much as they did and just want it to be over and done with, or they're sort of clueless without the direction of the books. One of those HAS to be true. It's surely an objective observation that the quality of writing the past 2 seasons has been rather poor by comparison.

Anyway, predictions for next season.

  • The Walkers will be the primary focus for the start of the season. It's more of a hope then a sensible deduction that that plotline will end mid season.
  • All the side characters will shed there plot armour, fulfil there fan summarised prophecies and then be killed (Cleganebowl etc.).
  • Cerseis valonqar is the child inside her (if she's not faking). It will kill her during childbirth which will be all sorts of poetic.
  • Neither Targs will sit the Iron Throne.
    Young Griff
will charge in mid final episode and claim all!!!!
  • Jjkjkjk. Democracy shall begin in Westeros and Sansa will be elected Queen or primary representative or whatever they'll call it.

Maybe Danys is fireproof because of two Targaryen parents and as Jon has a Stark for one stops that him being fireproof.

Nopes, Danny is unique in her "unburnt"-ness - if you remember her brother, same lineage, he wasn't fireproof, however, at the time it was staged in such a way as if it was expected from leading Targaryen to be fireproof, as if the news that he's not the true dragon after all came to him as a surprise.

Also why is everyone so upset about the Dany/Jon sex (when it's his aunt). but nobody really seems to care about the brother/sister sex.

Cause obviously the other sibling lovers are villains. Whereas this auntie sex from the only good character left was brought to our screens specifically as an end of season "abandon all ye hope" tada! event. Do we really need it? Was it worth it?

Not sure if I missed something or perhaps had too much beer but how did the unsullied get to kings landing?

They populated the outpost with freshly produced units from new item available in construction menu called barracks and outrun the boats by the same means of in-game fast travel as everything in this season. :D I wonder if they left before or after Euron finished his marine siege. Seriously though - obviously, from viewer perspective it's just a story shortcut that we are not supposed to pay attention to. Like Bran calling Jon: "Jon Sand, because barstewards of Dorne are called Sand". Yeah Branny, but Jon's dad is from Crownlands, so it's "Rivers" - "Jon Rivers". Oh... proofreaders...

The blue is in all probability just to distinguish the fire from the non-wight dragons, and there is as yet zero indication (other than in our minds grasping for explanations) that it has properties any different to regular dragon fire.

I wouldn't say i'm grasping for explanation, I just applied real life science to the situation. ;)

It's location based.
For comparison, in the books Mya Stone is Robert's daughter yet she's a Stone (Vale) not an Storm (Storm lands).

Young Griff not happening. Not enough episodes left to introduce such a pivotal new character.
They've just gone down the route of making Jon, Aegon Tagaryen.

I know, just playing around. It would be suicide to add more players to the board at such a late stage of the game.

we always had Jon Snow. Honourable, a little naive, not very well informed or knowledgable but never done anything wrong. So little time to the end, they made him fork his annoying auntie. In a passionate, fleshy scene. I know that it's GoT, but couldn't we have at least one clean, not tainted character to cheer for?

But as he's not done it knowingly, I don't know why you would think less of him? Even then, you could make an argument around if it's acceptable in their culture, why should we judge?

I enjoyed the episode overall but one thing is still bugging me;

What happened with the castle siege at the beginning?

To me it seemed like the unsullied & Dothraki were ready to storm the castle and then it was forgotten about. I may have missed something (was watching at 2AM) but I don't recall it being concluded.

I assume it was called off due to the meeting in KL, did I miss a key piece of dialogue?!

They were there as protection only, or retaliatory if things went south. There wasn't a plan to siege the city. Also a show of force to help seal the truce.

Decent finale overall I thought. Not great, just good.
Good stuff:
- LF getting his comeuppance
- Everyone meeting in the dragon pit, good dialogue etc
- wall came down at last
- blue fire breathing dragon
Bad stuff:
-Unsullied just let out of being besieged? No explanation.
-An hour of the episode (almost) in the dragon pit plot. Which ultimately was utterly pointless as it came to nothing, everyone just left and cersei doing her obvious and lying. Apart from Jamie riding off.

Noyou didnt its just one example of weird slopiness that may have ended up on the cutting room floor, OR, just Sloppy. My Money is on sloppy because its all pretty sloppy this season.

Seeing we last left them at Castley Rock, one would assume it was there but they were on the inside. All in all its probably Kings Landing but its just sloppy. The Climate felt more akin to there.

Oh were they at KL? I thought they were somewhere else (one of the other major castles based on the panning shot).

If that is the case that does explain it. :)

Well we saw Bronn talking about barrles of pitch. Next minute, Bronn is escorting the visitors to the Dragonpit which is in KL. I know the travel has been a bit dodgy this season but I don't think he's that fast ;)
