Personally I don't see the logic in selling Torreira for £5.5m and then spending more than 10x that on a replacement. If we needed a standin for Partey he was more than capable. Same could be said for Guendouzi (£9m) although I accept his relationship with the manager had broken down so he was never going to stick around.

Don’t be silly, Torreira couldn’t lace Partey’s boots. He was never interested. Too busy moaning about the weather and being homesick. If you want a player who can stand in for Partey, you’re paying serious money.

Best defensive midfielder in the league, that’s the one thing that could stop arsenal winning the league as he’s integral to how aggressive you can play

So? Don't see all the fuss. Blame other clubs not smart enough to find the loophole. As a fan of a team wouldn't you rather they had longer deals anyway, to stop the constant pressure when deals are run down.

Putting 2 and 2 together to get 5 but private jet came in from Holland today, I would love to think it’s Edson Alverez we’re bringing in as a replacement, they did talk about bringing some of the summer deals forward if the price was right.
