Jorginho looks to be a very shrewd piece of business. Very good at what he does and 31 isn't exactly ancient.

Man U needed cover if Erickson is going to be out for a little bit. Sabitzer is a very good midfielder and a loan move is probably good for all parties.

With all the talk of Oil money and human rights why don't Chelsea face similar questions. Previously bankrolled by a Russian (state sponsored) gangster, who are they backed by now? Finance guys? Likely dirty money as well.

All super rich is dirty money. You think Bill Gates and Bezos money is clean? It has all come from abusing workers rights and undercutting. The only reason Amazon workers have what they have is because of hard fought laws. Amazon would treat its employees just like the middle east otherwise.

Why is there only an uproar in football when it comes to Oil money then? Chelsea have spent over half a billion recently

I don’t think Potter will be able to cope myself. Can see him having to go before it can start to work.

Who do they get in? Poch?

I don't know quite what their plan is really. I can't see them winning the CL and I can't see them getting top 4 without a large slice of luck. That leaves them at risk of FFP as far as I know and with a bloated squad full of overpaid players they will probably need to shift a bunch of.

Hakim Ziyech move to PSG from Chelsea will not go through due to a incorrect paperwork sent by Chelsea.
by accident or design? It's not the first time right? Wasn't it United with De Gea going to Spain that had a similar last minute "glitch"?

This is going to be some test for Potter. I cannot imagine this is what he wanted, to sign that many players in such a short amount of time, and expensive ones, international, and stars from their previous teams.

Chelsea was always a team where players have all the power, I thought they are trying to change that with Potter, building and developing a young team...well, they got a young team, not sure he is going to develop any of them.

From myself it is just jealousy because their club has unlimited money. I am sure many people are like this and try to justify and stain it with morals. The Premier League has long been ruined since Roman was let in. If you want to watch a more balanced form of football go watch the Championship imo.

Has mass buying of players ever worked? Time will tell on this one.
Fulham and Watford will say "no". Nottingham Forest say "Fingers crossed". Newcastle say "it can", Leicester regard mass buying as 3 people (usually 30yrs+ ), and Everton's board just ask "what do they mean buying?"

Chelsea's spending at this level is not going to continue. They're owned by a private equity firm - they're here to make money. What Chelsea are doing is front loading their spending and I suspect they're doing it because they think it's going to be cheaper in the long run. If in the next 18 months or so Apple decide they're going to bid for the PL tv rights or Amazon go bigger then tv money will spike again and when that happens fees and wages will too.

The majority of fans, at least those you see and hear on twitter, don't care who owns their club or where they come from, as long as they spend some ****ing money. The people that do criticise the likes of the Saudi's, Qatar, Abu Dhabi etc are doing so not because they spend a lot - over the past 5-10 years Utd have spent as much as City. The criticism is because of their human rights records and their intentions with these football clubs.

Adam's comparison of these arab states with Bezos or whoever is of course nonsense. Amazon having a web of different companies to reduce their tax bill isn't comparable to mass executions, murdering journalists and the like. Not unless you also consider parking on double yellow lines to be equally as bad as murder.

I am not comparing them like for like but if Amazon could get away with executions they would most likely do it. The only reason the are kept in line is because of the laws in place where they operate. They will make sure they get away with the absolute bare minimum while their workers suffer. I am merely pointing out the rich private firms in the west are just as bad they just do it in a legal way. Is it morally right that Bezos has 200 billion to his name yet cannot muster anything to pay his workers a decent wage for the work they do?

There are literally reports in the US that Amazon have to think about shutting entire distribution centres down because they have gone through a workforce of 300,000 and have staff retention of 100%.

In our "developed" part of the world we should be better than this. Arabs need educating and are decades behind us in terms of values and what is considered wrong and right. What is our excuse for treating the workforce like this?

Hopefully nobody at Amazon's legal department reads this post :D And you might not see it as comparing but you're attempting to justify allowing brutal dictatorships to own football clubs by saying x done something bad once. For a start not all of these billionaires have done something bad before but there's different levels to these things. There's a world of difference from being a rampant capitalist to being a rampant capitalist butcher.

I'm sure you done something bad once upon a time Adam, from now on I'll group you together with Jack the Ripper :p

Jealousy? Look at the list of most expensive players, most of them are United players! We've wasted a billion or so in theast decade haven't we? We spent 200m this season, need to spend a lot more in unfortunately. But we're definitely big no spenders...
