Wolfdale e8200, e8400 and e8500 available for Pre-Order!

The throttling temp is called TCC, its near and below the maximum (Tjmax) junction temperature. If you open coretemp and select 'delta to junction' you can see how far the coretemp has to go before it reaches the factory set throttling point.

cheers for that, I've just checked my ickle e6300, tjmax is 85c so thats pretty good.

Pre Orded my 8500 on Monday 8 pm last week , ideas when I get it sent out ?

Thanks Don

Been assured that there will be more than enough to cover pre-orders and a good chunk for stock

excellent, 1/2 day on wednesday so I know what I'll be doing (not to mention thursday and friday nights if it goes as badly wrong as usual! especially with switching to vista).

quick question - I had to order by phone because it wouldn't go through online, will I get a dispatch confirmation e-mail? He did ask for my email address - hopefully he will have taken it down correctly.

Here is a little teaser of the E8500 at stock on Vista 64. No optimisations made what so ever.

Looking forward to some gaming benchmarks or the like (i.e realworld, encoding etc), not sure what the appeal of Super-PI is myself? (outside of Super-PI benchmarking competitions that is).

Help me out here guys. Relative newby, slightly off-topic question...

How come my E2160 on 3ghz (333*9) does 21 seconds on 1M SuperPi. When up against Weescott's E8500 at 2ghz (333*6) doing 14 odd seconds, it seems a massive difference. What drives it?

Thanks

ps apols if this is an "enthusiast" only thread ;)
