hi all,

i have been playing Wolf ET for over 4 years now and still love it and play often. even had a small OcUK clan going!!

however i feel like i want to move onto a newer game. i love the team and class based interaction of ET. what can you recomend that i take up?

i have never tried CS and for some reason dont like the idea (too far behind)

should i wait for the new Enemy Territory? when is it out?

RTCW is the best of its type to be honest!!! I played that from demo and have just decided to hang up the gloves.

There is nothing that will come near what Nerve designed for RTCW and splash damage ruined with ET and ETQW.. although ET was ok, it did not deliver what the RTCW community on a whole wanted. Splash damage where a mod group from Bromley in London/Kent, they should have stuck to that..

hang on ET was a free game how can you complain! it was then taken and now has numerous mods applied to it. to me thats a good thing!
 
I remember u gjrc, i was in s0 and i remember we used to play u guys all the time, one of ** players also played with us for a little while too (Hendrix)
I aint played ET in a while but when i last played on a public server it was always full of hackers, it was very rare to play on a server which didnt have one, what a great game tho :D

Im gonna play ET:QW tho once i get some cash for it, i did play the beta and really enjoyed it, most of the old s0 boys have mentioned making a clan for ET:QW but i doubt it will happen :S
 
Cant really comment in any games better than ET, ive played ET:QW demo and the TF2 beta and even Crysis Beta but i keep going back to ET, i want to beat my best position on splatterladder which was about 454, way back up to 1026 now :(

Big John (the morrell), flpz (one of the best players in the world @ et?) divine madness (crap and hopefully lost his virginity by now!...), Sedric, Tony (aka Alpha), qwerty, kinpin (wayback in the day), Binks, Kilo, Grim (hope the kid is doing fine and you have finally moved out of her mothers house), Influx,

the pain of loss (and listening to divine training us!) - miss those days- late nights dishing out lifestyle coaching to the younger crowd and shooting the breeze with the few of us over 25!

good servers are hard to find and has also put me off. Today i play insurgency but there isnt much action online maybe 100 players in 300 server!

I've lost many years of my life to both RtCW and ET, recognizing a few of you in this thread, but have finally broke free of my addiction to them. I have been "clean" now for about 6 months.

I was hoping ET:QW would be the game to succeed them but I can't get on with it at all. I would be playing it purely for the community. Lets hope that RtCW 2 will be the game we've all been waiting for. Until then Spider Solitaire will have to do.

This thread got me back on last night and I had a great game for about an hour before the server emptied out. Anyway, tried again today and all I can find are dodgy servers with odd maps and weird mods.
Then I found a decent server, propper maps and no mods... played for about 2 mins and realised that most of the players were bots!!!

Anyone know of any real ET servers still out there??

Are the Bio or Efterlyst servers still running? They were always very popular when I played, used etpro and had a decent map selection.

Although you did get the odd cheat on there towards the end of my playing days. Is the game supported any longer by punkbuster?

binks has just put up a server...

its called kings kingdom... dont have the IP to hand but maybe if he sees this he will be able to post it. yu should be able to find in in xfire. its v new so its often v quiet.

maybe we shoudl organise a game... :)
 
Still don't know why everyone has a problem with ET:QW!

Perhaps it is that I have not played the games that everyone keeps comparing it to. But perhaps that allows me to see it with fresh eyes. And I am not restricted by expectations.

I have great fun with this game, and can happily play for hours - the only game I can do this with. Normally I break hourly, or less. With this I carry on for hours.

The learning curve is big to use classes in the most efficient way. Hell, only just now getting the hang of GDF - suck as Strogg.

It just simply isn't a bad game....

First team based FPS game i've been hooked by since Wolf:ET.

Wolfenstein ET stole quite a lot of RtCW players, plus being free had its obvious advantages, it then went on to be the preferred game, so most olde skool Wolf players are not great lovers of ET :p

I still play RtCW and will do untill my regular server is empty/dead, not too long from now i suppose. ET-QW just does't do it for me, still waiting for a RTCW killer :'(
