Woolwich serious incident

Don't underestimate the stupidity of the general public - just have a five minute conversation with the average person about politics & it's enough to make you want to commit seppuku.

There's still enough intelligent people to stop a idiot like Farage from getting any sort of power.

+1

Just to add we won't see ukip in power either, thankfully!

Like I said, we won't see a far-right party in power.

Some of the members are racist but the party doesn't stand for racism. I can't take you seriously anyways, you think UKIP are racists and that's pretty dumb.

Being in UKIP doesn't make you racist. It makes you far-right (and therefore stupid) but not racist. They're mostly made up of racists though, and are based on racist ideals.

Thankfully people are set in their ways! The vast majority of people that vote con/lab/lib will carry on doing so. More will be swung to others from those three, hardly any will go to UKIP and other oppressive buffoons.

An even dumber statement, wonders never cease...do they? I'm almost certain you are only trolling me now.

UKIP was founded in 1993 by Alan Sked and other members of the all-party Anti-Federalist League – a political party set up in November 1991 with the aim of fielding candidates opposed to the Maastricht Treaty.[20]

Its primary objective was withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union. The new party attracted some members of the Eurosceptic wing of the Conservative Party, which was split on the European question after the pound was forced out of the European Exchange Rate Mechanism in 1992 and the struggle over ratification of the Maastricht Treaty. UKIP candidates stood in the 1997 general election, but were overshadowed by James Goldsmith's Referendum Party.

After the election, Sked resigned from the leadership and left the party because he felt "they are racist and have been infected by the far-right"

Hmmm.

and they kick out members who oppose them getting into bed with other far right parties. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8550698.stm

Parties like UKIP just want to drag the country back to the 70s under some misguided view that everything was better back then and johnny foreigner ruined everything. They're pretty good at opposing things but offer little in the way of anything positive.

Very true.

They lack any evidence based positive policies at all.

I can see why are going to these political groups, they are frankly sick of the large political groups of the UK - but unfortunately for them, UKIP are actually even worse.

What we need is a different option, a party which ignores the entire concept of left/right & sets simple objectives in a manifesto - then uses whatever method the evidence suggests is the best at achieving that goal.

IE, if the party wants to reduce crime - they should example the key causes of crime & factors related to recidivism.

In part the solution would be to reduce income inequality (plenty of evidence which lends towards this approach as a method of reducing crime, specifically targeted at children/early development). Also to go a
Norwegian style system of rehabilitation for existing offenders - screw what the left, right or the public think - go with the evidence.

Set key goals, methods of measuring success - use control groups & refine policy based on the results of the first stages.

In the last few posts of yours you are calling members here names.
I thought that was against the rules and you was here to uphold them?

Just asking as I can't see a rule changed in the FAQs.

AFAIK there are no members of UKIP here. If there are I will retract my statements as you are right, that would then be me 'calling names' at a member. Unknowingly, but even so I would remove them.

Unless that is the case though, can you point out where I have done that please?

I've been called stupid and I've been called a troll, I don't think I've reciprocated.

Closing the thread won't make us "right-wingers" think we've won, but continuing to make hilarious ultra-liberal posts like this will :D

Can you point out what is ultra-liberal about disliking a far-right and outright racist party please?

Just because you're on the left of the right wing doesn't make you left wing.

Yeah the people who rigged the system so we always have FPTP guaranteeing an ultra-liberal multicultural government every time.
I know a guy from the North west NF. A couple of elections ago he was minding vote counters. He got to throw out a couple of vote counters who were rigging the piles counted (adding extra to labours). :D

Gotta love the left and their democracy.

You never liked the 70s? How odd.
