Woolwich serious incident

And yet in every other prison thread GD accuses prisons of being holiday camps

Though saying that, you can probably easily get beaten up and lose your front teeth from a weekend in Skeggy Butlins :p

what I find so funny is everyone tries to pretend to be civilised etc fair trial yada yada

Really British public do not care and could care less if he was beaten to a pulp tbh. I know I don't, putrid human being.

Prison guards did it.

Hopefully he'll be subject to more restraint in the future.

So are the police going to pursue an assault case about it?

@above Everyone deserves true justice, if there was wrong doing and it wasn't investigated because the general consensus don't like the person and it then further led to a death of another prisoner then what's going to happen, of course I'm talking way into the very unlikely however if the police are pursuing this then it needs to be done otherwise we'll have the EU on our backs.

'pretend' is the appropriate word there, society has always just had the thinnest veneer of civilised behaviour papered over our natural animal instincts.

As shown quite eloquently by GD at times.

Even if they do investigate, I think we can guess what the chances of any charges being brought are, even if due.

I'd be interested to hear how likely it is to have 2 teeth knocked out from 'approved restraint techniques', teeth don't come out that easily...

Have you ever restrained a violent person who is intent on doing you harm whilst trying to maintain a safe environment for everyone else?

Very flipping difficult without sitting on them, or having your knee on their neck, and their wrists bound behind their back. That likely isn't particularly approved.

Smacking his mouth off the ground might have occurred during the restraint. Or it might have been a nightstick to calm him down, who knows, no doubt an investigation will find out.

Yeah, plenty of times. Cant say I have ever knocked someone's teeth out, but certainly they sustain injuries, sometimes significant ones, broke a man's jaw once...it is mainly due to their own actions rather than anyone else's though. The investigation is a matter of procedure and as long as the force was reasonable to the circumstances then they have nothing to worry about.
