If anyone is still questioning the motivation and whether this was a terrorist attack this statement ought to clear it up.

Tis a pity no passing cars had a chance to attempt to run them over...

The thing that does bother me is that other people from their community must have known they had extremist views especially their friends/family. I'd exect to see a few doors kicked down, searches carried out with dogs and immigration statuses checked. I think this community needs to do a heck of a lot more else incidents like this will only serve to carry on giving Islam a bad name and lead ordinary Muslims to be associated with these attacks and treated differently by some sections of society.

If it was me I wouldn't of cared, whoever could just stand by and watch it happen are just as sick....run away if your scared, do something if your not...don't just stand there filming it so your youtube popularity increases.

Lol at the crazy racists and also the crazy lefties in here that also claim it isn't anything to do with them being muslim.

I really have an internal conflict about stuff like this. These things make me think that something really has to be done about these muslim extremists, but what can be done without causing issues for the normal friendly muslims?

Something was done, Afghanistan and Iraq, yet somehow, all the extremists arent dead...I wonder why.

Problem is, terrorism is similar to serious illness. You see the signs but always think "it'll never happen to me" or simply pass it off as "having an off day". If you had a friend who had some strong beliefs and said he'd hurt people etc, would anyone actually believe it and do something about it? I'd doubt anyone would tackle it head on, as most people just want the quiet life.

So blowing up opposing fighters to smithereens in their home lands is OK but when these same opposing fighters bring the fight to our land it's bad? (Like in any war, you attack us, we attack you)

The two men killed a solider right, no innocent civilians?

Serious illness?

Perhaps on some level, but if that were the case, everyone that has an affinity to religious conservatism also has this apparent disease.

So no, do not term it so.
 
One thing I have yet to comprehend is the endgame for these extremist actions.
I don't see the goal.

When the IRA were blowing things up they in some form claimed it was to free Ireland.

Stabbing a squaddie to death on the street outside an army camp is an atrocious crime, as it would be anywhere, or if anyone had been killed in similar circumstances, but I don't actually see what it achieves.
There will be no mass terror form this action.
There will be no change in governmental policy from this action.
In effect there really won't be any great change for the public, bar a little increased personal security for those concerned.
How does this further any religious belief or action?
How does this ever win?
