"normal" muslims are in the best position to tackle extremism, as extremist views are based on interpretation of the same book all muslims read. Its poor understanding of the koran that leads to islamist extremism. Muslim Scholars really need to look at what is being taught in their local areas and ensure that the right message is going out.

Has this soldier ever done tours? Has he even completed his army training? Are we absolutely sure even that he's a soldier? Has he ever done tours in Somalia, if that is where they are from?
Although it has been mentioned a lot his barracks have not confirmed he was from there.

A man with an AK47 is a danger to colleagues on the ground. An unarmed man walking home from a day out is not.
