I'm no fan of J.T, hardly the morale authority and happily screwed around on his wife with is it two team mates.

But Gerrard, biggest diver in the league, more than willing to utterly cheat in an embarassing way, he's a mouthy git, puts in some truly awful tackles now and then(JT does to but its rare for an attacking midfielder), helps beat the crap out of a defenseless guy with a group of his mates and has always sucked for England despite pretty much having the team built around him. Lampard is the best english attacking midfielder we've had, almost ever, in terms of league performance, consistancy, goals and assists. Yet he, the more disciplined and better defensively, always plays the deeper role for England while Gerrard gets to play in his best role. Lampard in far from his best position may never shine, but is very rarely poor and normally pretty good.

Lampard is like by everyone, a seemingly decent bloke who I'm sure has dived but I can't remember any specifically and if he does, its very rare. He's not overly mouthy, he's fairly calm, he's consistant and he's a certain starter, is Gerrard, really?

I'd pick Lampard as Captain, Jt or keeper as vice.

AS for Bent, he's had several previous very high scoring seasons, he was IIRC the highest scoring Englishman while at Charlton, has done it again(well almost) at another fairly low club and didn't do terribly at Spurs considering he was never first team and both managers basically kept telling him he was crap and would only play him with no other choice, and he still scored a bunch.

Johnson IIRC scored a LOAD of penalties and has since been absolutely plagued by injuries, Bents been the same quality/level for 6 year or so.

Lampard is the only England player with a GCSE*

Am I glad we've got Carragher in the team now though. Easily as good (if not better) centre back as Ferdinand
:/

Are you having a laugh? The only reason you could consider Carra a better option is that he's less likely to get injured. Terry, Ferdinand and King are all far better players in every single other area except emergency goalkeeping.

Opps sorry. Just shows how much I hear of him now. Last I heard he was at Everton. Still not doing well their though either. Zamora on the other hand has been fantastic
By "fantastic", do you mean, "did pretty well in Europe for a few games"?

If so, then yeah, he's just fantastic.

tbh Terry is a good emergency goalkeeper lol

Have to wonder how wise a pre-tournament game so close is wise, given the record with injuries. All England need now is Rooney to get a paper cut.

The referee who will officiate England's opening World Cup match against the United States, Carlos Eugenio Simon, was suspended by the Brazilian Football Association last season amid accusations of being "unambiguously inconsistent, unfair and inequitable"

Sky Sports News.

Maybe not.

The SSN website originally said "Watch England's warm-up game with Platinum Stars live on Sky Sports News from 3pm" but they've just changed it to "we will be bringing you live reports and coverage from 3pm."

That simply sounds like they'll be a pundit in the studio following the game live and feeding us updates every few minutes.

I hope they show it, considering it's a decent first team just about, excluding Rooney.

I hope Hart does well, want him in goal during the tournament tbh.

The BBC websites now says ESPN are covering the match but the ESPN website makes absolutely no mention of it.

World Cup warm-up
