It's not petty, it's a bit of fun, although I can only speak for myself and my mates.

I enjoy seeing England doing well in tournaments but we have a good laugh backing their opponents, certainly in the group stages.


It's a bit of pantomime but unfortunately it's pricks some peoples sense of nationalist and they lose their sense of humour.

I didn't sign up to Scottish forums when your were struggling to beat the Faroe Islands and Malta :)

Not sure how I was causing grief? Everything I posted was in good humour. Not my fault people get all touchy.
 
it looks hot in SA we got no chance we never play well in the heat usa 1-0 england

we didn't have a chance anyway but the heat will destroy our players as ever

We will qualify in second then go out first knockout stage

USA's defense is pretty average from what I've seen but they aren't mugs going forward, the only way I can see us losing is if we fluff a lot of chances.
 
urggh cant believe how brainwashed the fans are on the news how can they be so blind ? we are average at best every time we have faced a good side we can barely get or keep the ball, No chance !

It's winter over there at the moment and the temps aren't expected to go much over 20-22c ;)
The altitude is a different matter though :)

I just discovered that google chrome has a cool application shortcut feature,
so I've put it on my taskbar for the duration of the world cup for easy referral. :)




Can I assume that fixtures page gets updated with the scores as well?
 
If england cant get pass the groupstage, then england will never win the worldcup.

What? USA = win Algeria = win Slovenia = win. That's what im expecting from England. Anything less then that then its all shamble
 
One of our big problems (and perhaps an indicator of what we truly think of our team) is that we are constantly looking at who NOT to play. Many is the time I hear the words "We'll do well as long as we dont meet Brazil" or "Hope we dont come second and have to face Germany" or "If X and Y happen we will avoid Spain" etc etc...

You just cannot expect to be called champions of the world if there are half a dozen teams that you dont want to play because you think they will knock you out. To be the best in the world you should need to expect and beat the best in the world. If it was boxing and a guy became world champion by not facing anyone in the top 5 rankings , we would declare how false his title is because he didnt beat or avoided the big guns. Football is the same imo.
