Precisely. I agree our defence has been stupidly poor. But why didn't Capello bring on King for Upson at half time?
That's what lost it for us IMO.

He has picked players almost on reputation and name value. Rooney shouldn't be on the field.

He is one of the worlds best, and has been incredible for us this season (United) but he is so out of form at this world cup. He has the potential to make something out of nothing and do something magical, but it isn't happening for him.

Defoe and Crouch would have made sense.

An out of form Rooney and the man mountain pie man Heskey does not.

Don't blame Capello, the fault lies with the FA. They urgently need to cap the number of foreign players in the domestic leagues to develop our own talent. The National side needs to take precedence over Club football, they need as much time together as possible.
