We have ultimately paid the price for a lack of talent in the english game, yes the manager must shoulder his share of the blame but he can only work with what he has got. How many English players (not just in the squad) would be first choice players in a word XI?

I think there was a period after Upsons goal where we were the better team but once again lacked the final ball and urgency needed to get a goal. The Germans exposed our defence for what it is, old and slow. Had we had Ferdinand we might not have got pulled appart like that, but again it comes back to a lack of talent because other countries would have players as skilled as him in reserve whereas we have no one.

Where do we go from here, by my reckoning we are so far off the pace of world football we need a good 10 years of proper investment and measures to nuture English talent before we stand a chance of winning anything again. At the moment it seems like an end with no sight of a new beginning.
 
Also What in the name of everything that is holy was terry doing forward at every opportunity, leaving a gaping hole in our defence.
 
at the end of the day our defenders weren't good enough and lacked pace and it's because they aren't players in the top 4 prem sides just highlights the guld in class between your man u's arsenal chelsea's and liverpool and the rest.
 
What annoys me is that we lost to a pretty average German side. Out of their back four, only Lahm is any good. Then they've for Schweinsteiger and Ozil, and possibly Podolski, but that's it. So frustrating.

Sorry, I find comments like that utter nonsense. Carragher's played against better and quicker players than anything Germany have. He's simply a better defender than Upson and wouldn't have been rushing out from the back leaving huge gaps for Germany to exploit.

Our problems defensively stemmed from no midfielder picking up Ozil inbetween the back 4 and defense and the positioning of the CB's, not a lack of pace.

Disagree, the Germans are not all better individual players but they sure are a better TEAM.

Germany have a very good team, younger, hungrier, it must be hard for any manager to motivate a team full of multi millionaires.

Its football. Its all about rubbing it in when the other team loses and the team you support wins. Its all in good fun.. just don't take it so seriously. :/
 
Gerrard & Terry were shocking...

Couldnt even control the ball to their feet, kept bouncing up, flicking it up etc...

Rooney never got any service, Capello did you watch any United matches?

Capello is partly at fault.

Glad its all over, atleast Rooney can have a rest before the new season.

We don't need this debate about having an English manager again, we've had a Swede an Englishman and an Italian manage pretty much this group of players and they play pretty much the same!

They aint good enough and about time we accepted it I think.

Why should people get into trouble ?

I would hope that the majority and more are restrained enough not to take the bait.

RTMs and mod details are only a click away and if it is deemed unacceptable then it will be dealt with.
