It's about time we ditched the 'old regulars' in favour of fresher, younger talent.

Cole has been a fantastic player for England, but it's time to move on.

I agree but not sure I'd ditch cole who has shown in the big games he can still produce under pressure. His game has been consistently high for so long. Also if you are going to go with young fresher talent you wouldn't take Gerrard either or lampard.

Personally I'm in two minds, I feel whenever we have done reasonable in these things it has been the experienced players that have been the stars, while the young much touted players time and time again have failed to deliver on the big stage.

I think both Baines and Shaw this season have been far superior. If Cole was 1st choice at Chelsea he might well have been on the plane. Out of those 3, you have to pick 2, and those 2 would have to be Baines/Shaw.

I would take Gerrard, just because he has been outstanding this season, however, I would not take Lampard. The one thing I'm concerned about is Gerrard being played in a central midfield role instead of sat just infront of the defenders, a role in which he has made his own this season. Will Hodgson change the usual tactics to suit certain players? Not so sure....

Hope he ditches most of the old guys. Lampard, Cole, Terry etc and gets some young ones generating some experience for 2016 onwards. About time we had some freshness in the team.

Those saying Milner shouldn't go clearly haven't watched him play. Been great for City this year and gets in great positions inside and outside the area. He changed the game against Liverpool and was involved in both goals. He's also a workhorse so could provide cover both on the wings and in the centre of mid. One of the most underrated players in the league imo.

Also have to say no Miranda or Filipe Luis in the Brazil squad is lol worthy.

Yeah he' s really good player Milner, definitely going. Carrick has missed out it seems, suppose you could only really take either Gerrard or Carrick, Gerrard it'll be i think.

No Lucas for Brazil as well, nutty!

Caroll and Cleverley on standby just goes to show how **** we really are.

Other than that, the only person I wouldn't have in the squad is Lampard. Yes I appreciate he will look to play Gerrard deeper, but it's not worked before with those two and i'd hazard a guess considering their age it never will. Oh, and i'd have taken Ruddy over Forster as well.

It's also amusing considering he gave it the 'looking to the future' speech about Cole, then puts a 35 year old in.

I'm a little surprised that Lampard made it in, but if the alternative is Tom Cleverley I suppose I can live with the decision.

Is Phil Jones going purely for his facial expressions?

Agreed but Hazard comes from Belgium so we can't pick him.
