if that goal hadnt gone in at the start we would have lost 1-0, we created minimal chances tbh the 1st half was ok, as said before the 2nd half was awful

i hate svens tactics of just sitting back and was shocked at both substitutes

mind you the atmosphere in walkabout was immense, yates was dead
 
it was scary in the pub :p

at least we saw a Bishop Auckland flag on the stands before kickoff..

:) the pub went wild... even more than the goal

sweden will top the group tonight...goals :(

what was walkabout like?

we were going to go but thought not too...

walkabout was packed but immense, they had the massive screen out and all the tunes going, me and my mate were there, but then we had to leave as my other mate turned up and they wouldnt let anymore in

so we had to leg it to yates which was dead

Give the guys some credit. I reckon they were terrified of getting yellow cards from the most clearly biased ref I've ever seen. Joe Cole jumps for a header with a Paraguayan front and rear and they get a free kick? :eek:

England simply couldn't play football when every decision goes against them. Good result TBH.
 
First half, not bad, not good, second half, terrible tactics, terrible game on Englands part, Paraguay wern't amazing but if they were a better team they would have easily scored second half due to englands playing.
If this is Englands standard now i seriously hope something is done about it else we have no chance at all.
 
Well that was just plain awfull to watch I thought my eyes were going to start bleeding. Fair do's we have got the result. As Arsene Wenger said before the Euro Cup final Brazil always have the mentallity and obligation to go out and win the game in style. Why can't England do that and get away from this "Well at least we got the three points" Mentallity. We have the players to do it and do it with style.

Result aside the only real postive for me was the performance of Joe Cole. I think he has the maturity, confidence and skill to go and beat a man or two and set players up yet we only saw glimpses of it today. Same with Stevie G. Not that I blame him for one minute but where was the powerfull bursts from midfield ? Where was the fullbacks over lapping and putting the ball in the box low and hard. Not Ashley Coles biggest fans but one of his and Gary Neville's skills is playing as attacking full backs.

Greatest respect to Peter Crouch but he is not international class. A lot of huff n puff and you can get away with that in freindlys and qualifying but these are the finals. There are not many bad teams in it. If he is the answer we are sure as hell asking the wrong questions. Did Lampard turn up today ?

I was fed up of hearing Motty say "Great Knock down from Crouch" We had a plan A to get it upto him as early as possible and that didnt work. After that plan b was being worked out on the bench. Substituting Owen for Tactical reasons ????
 
Where the hell is Dwight Yorke playing? I missed the formation at the start of ITV's coverage. It's as if he's playing deep in midfield because there are always players ahead of him. :confused:
 
sweden look strong, i think they will trouble our defense, which is why it was key to win against paraguay 2day. A draw for sweden V trinidad would suit me down to the ground
