World Cup Group B (England, Paraguay, Trinidad and Tobago, Sweden) **SPOILERS**

I still believe we should persevere with Owen rather than Crouch. Crouch's height seems to encourage the rest of the team to hit long balls, with Owen and Rooney up-front, they will play the ball around on the ground a bit more. Crouch still has to prove himself against the very best opposition, whereas we know on his day, Owen is capable of a hat-trick.
 
I wanna see owen and rooney up front for beginning of match with some great passing and thru balls to set owen off, 1 goal and his attitude is gonna change and i reckon he will hit his form! We all know hes capable of much better football when given the chance. We havent been playing him in at all.

Second half when we are 2-0 up ;) bring wallcott on for rooney let him rest a bit and get wallcott some practice. After all he was picked for a reason!

Today should be interesting and a lot of fun. You all hope for an un-traditionall result, ie. a win for England. Here in sweden we are obviously looking forward to denying you this once again, however it is my belief with your current team you really should win. You have better players on almost every position.

Then there's the group A situation. As most of you are aware of Germany and Ecuador play their last match at 3pm BST, we play at 8pm BST, meaning England and Sweden will know who is first and second in group A.

Germany fits Sweden's type of play better than Ecuador's. However, playing the germs at home will be a truly tough task!
Ecuador have been a surprise so far. I think they have played above their capacity and will not posses a major threat in the second round. Mainly because they have little play-off stage experience and they will have burned pretty much all of their fuel after the Germany game.

In the end I believe both matches will have four teams trying to win!

Our Key players in this match will be Källström, Larsson and Ljungberg.
Allbäck and Larsson could make a formidable threat. They have played well together in previous internationals.
Zlatan may or may not play tonight. I would prefer to have a fit allbäck rather than a half fit Zlatan.

Looking forward to us seeing some actual football today. I'm delighted that Crouch is out and hopefully Owen can knock a couple in today to shut the mouths of his doubters.

The only reason Crouch is even in the squad is because he is 6 foot 7! Does anyone actually think that if he was only 6 foot he'd be in the team?

I reckon it will finish 2-1 to England tonight with goals from Owen and Rooney (Larrson for Sweden).

I'm not bothered who we get in the next round or any round after that. People seem to be presuming that Germany WILL beat Ecuador and Argentina will avoid defeat against Holland. Lets just get some momentum going from todays match and take it from there.

If I was arsed I'd go back a few weeks and see the thread when he was first picked. I said back then when everyone was saying it was a big gamble that it wasn't at all and he wouldn't play him.
 
Crouch missed an early chance from Beckham cross. He is good in the air because of his height only. Apart from his height, I can’t see he is a better player than Rooney or Owen. We need someone who can hold the ball well and invite wing backs or midfields to play more attacking football. Come on England. Show us you are not only long pass team.
 
Noticed theres only 1 game from each groups deciding matches on today how come the Beeb and ITV aint showing 1 game each?

Obviously dont matter that the Poland V Costa Rica game isnt on but Trinidad could conceveably still qualify.

It appears to be the same all week as well so dunno if there is some agreement in place to stop BBC & ITV competing with one another or what?

Matters more later in the week in the Czech, Ghana, Italy, USA group really.

You're missing the fact that he's not a very good footballer at all. His goals for England have come against Uruguay, Hungary, Jamaica and T&T. Hardly great footballing powers are they?

Playing Crouch means we don't get the best from players like J Cole, Lampard and Gerrard. I'm sick of defenders and midfielders lumping high balls up front when he plays. Our play when Crouch plays is prehistoric!

Its also a waste of time playing him with Rooney as you need an out and out goalscorer to partner Rooney up front.
