World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

Just wondering if people are already taking preventative measures against burn in like having a black background and setting monitor to turn off after 5 mins inactivity, etc? I’m not sure to take it easy with the monitor or just to use it as I would normally as I have never used an OLED display before. Curious what others are doing?
why would you do that thats why we got 3 years warranty for burnout and by 4 years this monitors will be TRASH anyway and we upgrade it to better oled for 900 or less

Well after lots of back and forth they are not interested and have told me basically its tough, they dont know why it got cancelled and to re-order if I want it.
Have asked them to escalate it as a complaint, as this isnt right... 08:14 confirmed, now kicked out of the queue and not able to get the good price I had.

Just ask them to honour the price on your reorder and they should do that just fine.

Many thanks mate, at least it gives me comfort my module isnt broken. I've sent a message to Vincent to look into this.

Hi, when you get a chance could you do the following test:

Set 175hz vrr on hdr off
Open Lagom black level webpage
Take a pic of the first few squares
Set 60hz vrr on her off, and take a pic of the first few squares.

Let me know if there is a difference, or upload here? Would be much appreciated.

You can have 2xc1 for price of one c2 oO interested can have a look not mentioning where at.

I just adjusted digital vibrance in nvidia control panel, dropped it from the default 50 to 44 and now my primary colours are much more in-tune with colours to the eyes than I am used familiar with. It has reduced the Samsung vibrancy, even though recorded as accurate with the i1Display Pro. Vibrancy reduced has neutralised the over-punchy reds and yellows especially that Samsung panels are known for and now I have something that is very close in colour tone to my LG which is perfect. The phenomenon is known as metamerism:

Metamerism is a phenomenon where the color of two objects appear the same under a particular light source, but actually have different spectral energy distributions. 24. When a different kind of light source is used, the color difference between them is revealed.

Re-ran calibration and got great results again.

What effect calibration had on text if any ?? Also not knowing much about calibration do you end up with colour profile file for windows or hows it working ??

@Grim5 or buy lg oled Yopu wanted say as they got standard pixel structure if one is bothered by it.

I found the site and there's not a cat in hells chance I would buy from them. Address appears to be a side street with no retail units visible on google street view, just garages and other units. Two trustpilot reviews that look fake to me and nothing prior to this year. As the old saying goes, If it looks to good to be true...

Yeah, I think will stick with my Dell order thanks

Calibration would have some affect on text fringing since it is adjusting a wide colour spectrum, so if it neutralises out say red channel, then red fringing around text should be reduced too although to what degree is depending on the panel I guess as each will deviate slightly. Same as before if I eyeball right up to the screen I can see some fringe on white text with black background, but black text on white background is now free from any fringe that I can see now.

Yeah a display colour profile is created including a look up table and other parameters that the gfx card is told to output for the calibration to work in conjunction with the OSD RGB/brightness etc changes that were made during the calibration profiling stage.

When you load the Windows 11 Display Settings window, it will momentarily detach the profile then attach it back again, you can see for a second or so the reference unmanaged look vs the managed look once the profile attaches again.

So eager to complain, but afraid to in case they cancel my order... Is everyone else waiting until the thing is delivered before letting Dell have a piece of their mind?

Nope, more important things in life to worry about than having to wait another month for something I've been waiting 4-5 years to exist.* Venting at someone from CS isn't going to do anything as they're clueless at best when it comes to stock levels and expected lead times for delayed products.

*If that is all anyone here has to be concerned about, I envy you.

Id buy it thats what you got credit card prtotection for simples. Even currys got C1 below 800 pounds. key woord STOCK CLEARANCE before C2 hits the stores. Next 2-3 weeks is when you buy C1 at some silly low price.
I buy stuff from aliexpress all the time and risk buy stuff all the time. ALWAYS PAYS OFF. Like atm sitting with earphones using A&K tesla drivers saved myself 800 pounds getting same thing without branding sounds epic. Love good copy replica knockow stuff from china.

Complain that what ?? They got no stock to fulfill orders ?? Have a look in 3080gpu topic there are people that paid for 3080 15 months ago and still waiting for stock LOL. At lest Dell not taken any money in advance.

Cool. Never had a calibrated display. Sitting on Windows 10 as I dont want to have extra security features of W11.

Only buy OLED TV's from a proper supplier if you want any hope of warranty help.
Warranty wont cover burn in anyway. Usually hardware with me looses warranty day one due to mods ect. Like I turned off all protrection options in my oled tv using service remote hehe. Only burn is stopping me from getting tv as monmitor i got space to move desk even 3 meters away from wall ifi i want to. But buying new tv every year is kinda stupid. Assume one year will burn in C1 of mostly desktop useage.

Saw a reddit post saying someone on CS had told them there getting some more stock on the 1st and 11th. With our new shipping date of 21st, that would mean they're getting new stock every 10 days. Could all be nonsense, but it might be worth keeping an eye on your order on the 1st, just in case.
