World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

In terms of fan noise, can't say I notice it really even with my ear against monitor. Certainly not over my pc even during idle anyway (quiet but probably not silent like some builds here).

Ah yeah I forgot that it's nvidia that stipulates the fan. I wonder if it's the type of fan you can disconnect and replace with a quieter and slightly larger one one, I mean I'd be tempted to do that lol.

The payment thing, mine was on pending 3 days after delivery. I think they pre authorise the payment first then actually take it once delivery is confirmed.

That's even more reason for dell to let me keep this one and do refund as who knows what my second one will be like.... This one I can't see any issues with that some are posting about.

OLED superiority aside, I am never going back to a monitor with a matte coating finish again :) The anti glare on this is very good and considerably better than a matte finish even in my relatively bright room with a big window beside the monitor (obviously blind has to be closed somewhat when sun is shining directly in), as mrk noted earlier, you don't have the light diffusing across the whole screen (which in dark scenes, makes it pretty much unusable). Finding this screen a lot more usable in the same conditions and details still come through, with my iiyama 34" ips monitor, I would be having to close the blind almost entirely.

And another photo to show how much more detail you see in dark areas, as noted earlier, whenever in any indoor areas with little lighting, I always found myself having to turn the "flashlight" on :p

Still can't believe the price of this tbh. Will need to confirm but if my quidco cashback goes through as well, this will have cost about £700, mental.

PS. played valheim there which has a lot of foggy/mist scenes, bright sky etc. and not a single sign of any banding at all. QD-OLED without a doubt is superior to OLED in this regard. Not my photo and my lg oled e7 is certainly not this bad but just to show what I am referring to:

The only con I have found so far is the flickering with near dark images on display, I definitely notice it without having to look for it, although mainly only when static i.e. not in motion. Hopefully dell can provide an update to fix that.

Just started gaming on this last night and was completely blown away by it. Only negative thing I noticed that trying to alt+tab out of a game into windows causes my screen to go black for about 5 seconds which is odd

Well, got mine installed, dimmed it down to 30% and it feels about where my old monitor was, although with the excellent colour and contrast.

Anyone know any good zoning software for snapping windows beyond the default ones?

I have heard of "Fences" but not sure if it's any good for what i want. Want to be able to make a 16:9 on part of the window then 5:9 the rest. Or be able to switch to three vertical sections.

I was also surprised that the screen defaulted to 10bit colour. But had to shift it to 60Hz.

When the Uncharted games come out, that is going to look incredible on that. Anyone fired up God of War and Cyberpunk yet?

Something Something never late, nor early, but precisely when it means to.

I have also noticed how the image moves around the screen as pixel shift is running in the background. It's not really noticeable while you are using it. Till you look at the edges of the screen.

But i think at 30% brightness, i shouldn't have to worry about burn in.

I don't suppose anyone else has installed the Dell monitor driver for this display? it also comes with a colour profile.

(Also the camera is saturating the colours a bit there. Looks completely different in person)

Looking good here...box arrived Thursday and looked in perfect condition, but only got around to trying out yesterday.
No sign of any issues so far, screen looks perfect (think some of those with marked surfaces could be because the foam covering the wrong way round maybe ?). Installed fine, DP cable I use needs a bit of finagling due to the limited space in the back but worked fine. Rear plastic cover is a bit flimsy, but who cares once it's in place and out of sight.
Can immediately see the colour improvement, but probably need some adjustment on definition after coming from an IPS, but that's a small thing.
Quick look at God of War, Doom Eternal, Arkham Knight, Alien Isolation etc all looking great. Will have to do some research around the Windows HDR functionality, as while titles like Doom auto switch to HDR, others like God of War need to be manually enabled.
Didn't notice any fan noise but that's probably something that'll be noticeable with extended use, but overall first impressions are very positive. Definitely needs some adjustment on the colour saturation front, but that will come with time.

Downsides......max height adjustment is a shade too low for me on my setup so will have to look at that, and, TBH, like most things in life, I wish it had a few more inches as it looks relatively small in situ due to the slim panel and curvature.

Doom Eternal will really pop on that since it's a high contrast game. Arkham Knight will be showing very inky blacks as well as looking glorious with the rain scenes and those inky wet blacks.

Tron Legacy is another to show it off.

Something else i have noticed more is that natural colours are reproduced nicely on this and there is complete colour uniformity across solid blocks of colour.

But then my old monitor was 8 year old TN. lol, but even on more recent monitors i haven't seen similar.

Guardians of the galaxy is fantastic too, I played this on the e7 and hands down, this looks much better, more accurate, better handling of blacks/dark areas and the lack of any banding really makes for a great experience. Hdr400 is so good.

Tbh every game looks stunning :p

One thing i noticed straight away is the yellow and red on your signature. It really stands out.
