World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

So Dell got back to me about the packaging imprint marks on the panel. They have requested a photo with tedious instructions. I say tedious because they already have this info from the service tag which is linked to my account and order number anyway but hey ho....

My replacement says estimated 20th August lol so much for a 48hr swap. Surely some should be kept for warranty exchange

Same thing happened with the US orders, saw a post on Reddit where it had failed and the replacement wasn't due for 3 months - like you say it's a bit of a joke when it supposedly comes with next business day exchange.

Are they going to extend your warranty from when the replacement comes? If not, I'd just cancel your existing order and place a new one since it sounds like you're not going to get it any quicker either way, and you're effectively going to be losing almost 6 months of your warranty!

Should have asked for a loan monitor, or failing that, order a new monitor (obviously different model) from them, return within 14 day window, repeat until you get your replacement.

I had to do this for my aw2721d too

Is funny how there are quite a few pictures here from poeple validating they own this monitor. :D

Considering how difficult it is to do. :p

Bit confused by this, people have posted pics of games, movies etc and general pics in the thread dedicated to the monitor itself which is quite the norm?

Ah, oh that reminds me, on [H] forums there was one guy calling this QD-OLED absolute "trash" - Wording very similar to the guy you reference from earlier. Wonder if they are one and the same :D

Maybe him, lugar and Mike are one in the same?

I mean how can one call this monitor trash is beyond me. There is a good chance it either means they are jealous, blind or simply don’t know what’s what like the youtube guy living in his own reality

It's surprising to me, it seems like Dell/Alienware and Samsung had no idea how popular this monitor would be for some incomprehensible reason.

Yeah, but it doesn't take a genius to realise that you're invariably going to have a certain % arrive DOA or fail within the first couple of weeks, and that they should keep some aside to cover that.

Even with a 1% failure rate, if they sell 1,000 of them, 10 will need an RMA - surely better for 10 people in the queue to have their position dropped back a couple of weeks than have people whose monitor arrived DOA to have to wait 6 months?

Thanks man. That's interesting that it's the same width as the LG 34WP550-B (just a random flat ultrawide I found). I'd have thought the curve of the Dell would have made it a few cm narrower.

That will come down to Bezel size, also the panels native resolution is higher than what is stated to allow pixel shifting as it runs. so it's going to have a little extra width.

Great screen shots Nexus18, really want a QD Oled PC monitor sometime probably next year, not interested in LG 42'' TV still too big imo.

Not reordering the 34'' QD Oled from Dell though, happy with my 27'' Lcd 1440p monitor for now.
