World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

It's all good!

Anyone notice that now that all the reviewers have done their thing and the crowd are all over it, the prices have gone back to the non offer levels?

£1400 smackers and no promos. If you got one when you did, like us, then high five!

Edit*
Yet it is $1300 in the USA. The usual fleecing of us Brits it would seem.

Lovely. At this rate this monitor will be free to me as when the next one I have on order comes in June (maybe earlier) I will sell it on for a juicy profit thanks to Dell :D

I'll list a rundown of stuff I've found later today!
Not sure if you did post this. Basically was asking if you used any specific software. More of a ultrawide and Windows 11 question I suppose as I will be moving to that soon.

Also did you or anyone install the dell icc profile or anything like that?

:D
Loving it

Played resident evil village last night for a bit.

It is a great monitor...!
Indeed :D

BTW seen @mrk post on reddit. The amount of 'knows-it-all' in every thread there continues to amaze me.
Im glad I found this forum, it's suprisingly healthy and respectful place to share opinions.

Yeah, I hardly ever use reddit and that is one of a few reasons why.

Still showing as £1099 for me on the first link there?

Bahahahahahahahaha!

:D

Agreed. Only saw 175fps in older games like Deus Ex Human Revolution which I wanted to try out. That game was unplayable on 4K as the hud was not resizable and everything was super tiny and obviously playing at non native resolution was not ideal. Looks nice ultrawide now too :)

I did notice flicker in one or two games being in 8bit 175hz, was not a huge issue, but as you say what’s the point when 144hz is plenty anyway and on latest games it is hard to hit that. I am coming from 60hz so I am fine with 144hz :p

Been playing more with the monitor and showed it to a mate today who was blown away with it. Eyes already adjusting to the lower res and really just loving it. Already pretty much made up my mind I will be keeping the monitor long term.

Did you adjust the HDR settings in game for Cyberpunk by the way, I only noticed it earlier when briefly showing a mate that there was a section for it to adjust. Might mess about with that later.

Sounds like someone is becoming a 21.9 believer at long last ;) :p :D

Yeah still at £1099.99, but price will go up soon.
Did see it at full price £1400+ for a few secounds on Dell UK.
I dont think it will go up.
It was 1423.5 from beginning, discounted via automatic code.
Then code disappeared, so was showing as 1423.5.
Now they corrected to original, undiscounted price of 1099.
I think it will stay this way.

Yeah Dell like to mess around with their pricing and discount's.
Dell can drop the price if they want, that's the only way that will cancel my order now lol.

Maybe my eyesight's just getting bad, but I can't see the fringing at all on a white background, and barely on a black one if I look for it.

If anyone is annoyed at having to manually shift to HDR mode for all those programs that don't do it automatically, I was introduced to a tool called AutoActions. There are more lightweight alternatives, but I found this one to be the most convenient and unobtrusive.

Is that sarcasm? That looks good to me but I'm viewing this thread on an LG oled lol.

Is it the coating that causes washed out blacks in light?

I prefer dim lit rooms but appreciate it's not for everyone.

Lack of reflection appeals to me, I'm not a fan of how relective the oled tvs are.
