World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

Any tips on cleaning the screen on the Dell AW3423DWF.

I've have a lot of finger marks and have used the usual wipes but they just leave smears or residue.

Would a microfibre cloth be ok, im worried about micro-scratches.

Get 2 brand new microfiber cloths, Soak 1 in luke warm water, Squeeze out the water until the cloth is just mildly damp and then in a circular motion go from left to right. Use the 2nd dry microfiber cloth to dry and polish.

If it's just light dust and smudges then just use a dry microfiber cloth and clean in a circular motion.

@mrk interesting mine is spot on using the default sRGB with gamma 2.4 and still no drift since i first got it or a drop in nits. Using the AW spectral profile btw.

Those options are not new :p

Interesting, as you're in creator mode, can you enable HDR as if you were going to play a HDR game or watch a HDR video and just see if the screen in general looks off-colour? The reason I switched to Custom Colour from Creator Mode sRGB is because when enabling HDR mode, the colours looks way out of accurate range. It's like Windows going into HDR mode messes with colours when in Creator mode post-calibration. Doing the calibration in Custom Colour and aligning the RGB values in the OSD to be in the green as above and then increasing/lowering brightness/contrast to suit my preference results in perfect colours in HDR mode too.

Your 143cd/m2 is way too bright for my liking though, even I ended up recalibrating for 115cd/m2 the other day as 120 I felt was a little too bright, just needed to drop contrast back down to 66 which levelled that out.

Also what does your final verification screen look like? Can you upload the HTML? For ref here's my latest:

Is the report auto saved somehwere?

No once you complete a calibration you can then go to the main screen at any time, click the Verification Tab, click the button to launch verification and it asks where to save the report file. Just make sure the default test chart is the Extended verification one.

Don't really know where to upload it but file is here: edit: link doesn't work. Screenshots below.

Nice cheers, looks spot on! Did you check what the colour visually looks like when in HDR mode?

It’s definitely off but that’s windows related I’m sure. When I verified HDR via HCFR and a pattern gen, it was fine on the readings but perceptually matching with my calibrated S95B, it didn’t line up.

I only use hdr for gaming so win+alt+b is perfect for that.

Yeah perceptually, which is the most important part as you still want games to be colour accurate especially in HDR since the gamut is expanded. I found only Custom Colour in the OSD gave the visual accuracy I was expecting when in HDR mode hence why sticking to that instead of Creator now - The reason I used Creator before was because of its relatively good factory calibration for sRGB, but that's not needed any more since proper calibration is possible thanks to the new spectral.
