World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

I have jut bought this monitor but thinking of sending back. Everything else is stunning but text just doesn't look right to me on screen. Have tried ClearType, BetterClearTypeTuner & MacType but cannot get it to look right. The more I am trying to fix the more it is irritating me lol.

I use my monitor for work and emails as well and I don't think I could just get used to it!

To my eyes, the text looked quite fuzzy and created some eye strain.

Same for me, kept thinking my eyes were playing tricks on me. For everything else this monitor is lovely but viewing emails, documents and excel files just looks really bad to me.

I’m gonna try playing with it over the weekend and see if I find a solution but seems like many have had similar problems.

After my first day of using it my eyes did feel funny but thought that might be partially down to using such a large curved monitor, going from a 27” it was quite a big jump. I’ve got a LG 27GP950 where everything is super sharp, obviously though with it having a much higher PPI to be expected but I didn’t expect the text to be so blurry!

White text on a dark browser window seemed to be the biggest issue for me, especially when reading text where the tabs are.

I already have faint burn in! I've done Pixel Refresh every day, don't leave apps open or apps either side. Barely two weeks of ownership.

It runs straight down the center ( Noticed in Discord ) when I loaded it up 5mins ago. Can't see it in any games or Windows just yet

EDIT : Not noticeable at all in HDR MODE only with HDR OFF

Hmmm seems common and it might not be related to burn in, with different varying results of how to fix

I had this exact same thing occur to me on my monitor. I don’t think it’s a monitor problem, I think (for me at least) it occurred when I toggled digital vibrancy within Nvidia Control Panel to anything other than 50%. If you’ve been in there, that’s likely why.

I've sent mine back. Whilst HDR media looked superb, I just couldn't get used to the SDR colours not quite being correct and I just couldn't get used to the text not being crystal clear (also getting eye strain)

I tried to persevere with it for a week, but I'm back on my Alienware IPS widescreen now and feel much happier, not worrying about burn in along with the other issue mentioned.

No doubt OLED is superb tech, but it's just not right for me at the moment.

It's weird as I brushed aside the text clarity complaints at first and thought people were overblowing the issue. However, after a few days, it hit me and I really struggled to do anything on the desktop comfortably.

Still, a fantastic monitor for gaming though.

Tried this? Worked for me :)

Tried this, it definitely helps but the text still isn't very clear for me.

Any tips on cleaning the screen on the Dell AW3423DWF.

I've have a lot of finger marks and have used the usual wipes but they just leave smears or residue.

Would a microfibre cloth be ok, im worried about micro-scratches.

FINGER MARKS??????!!! Are you one of those people that has to point and literally touch the screen when reading and looking at stuff

A clean microfibre cloth and wipe in circular motions from one end to the other as if you're waxing on and waxing off. That's what I do if I ever need to clean the screen.
