World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

Any long term watchers of this thread give me a general idea of how bad/good the reliability of the AW3423DW/DWF is?

Looking at the get DWF as it is on discounts at the moment but having at look at the last 50 pages of posts it seems like all doom, gloom and RMA. Lmao

I think you should be fine if you're using it for content consumption. I wouldn't buy one for productivity. According to RTings torture test these panels fare badly when using a lot of 16:9 content so stick to 21:9 if possible. Also, they report that WOLED copes better with burn-in than QD-OLED.

Other issues are the text clarity and micro scratches which are bound to occur due to poor packaging. These can't be seen in most lighting conditions though. QD-OLED doesn't have a polarizer so the inky blacks can be limited somewhat by brighter rooms compared to WOLED.

It's the best/most immersive gaming monitor you can buy covered by a generous warranty. However, there are quirks as previously mentioned.

I've had 2 but returns were not related to burn-in. The scratches were quite bad and unacceptable given the price paid and I suffered from eye strain. A friend of mine has the DW and it's burnt in twice, mostly due to running programs side-by-side and the white line Windows creates.

Mine has been used for productivity 8-4 every weekday and gaming most nights since Sepetmber 2022, and not a sign of burn in
Same, except since April 22.

I can see the uniformity has gone a bit worse if I put up a near grey slide or a blue slide up, so there's definitely some "wear" but can't really see any static imagery or anything, or is any of it visible in real world use.

I have had my DWF
for a year. I use it for work as a developer, mostly BI work and gaming. It's a great monitor and it really did wow me when I 1st got it.

But I have noticed it has lost a bit of brightness and it deffo has task task bar retention from my work pc. As I can make out the outline of the icons and the gray taskbar in certain circumstances.

It's not drastic and only really becomes apparent when the background is more towards gray.

Tempted to get a replacement but not sure if I CBA.

Meanwhile my LCD looks just as glorious after 2.5 years heating 1.1k nits in any brightness scenario with no burn in worries. Are these OLEDs really worth it?

Ha wait until you try one of these OLEDs, it's not all about brightness.
I did get a qd oled TV and yes it's better than my LCD monitor but the difference is not that much. Bare in mind my monitor is far from the best LCD panel you can get, it's bright but it lacks high end local dimming.

In the end I regret getting the OLED TV a high end LCD would have been better. I feel like the people that rave about OLEDs upgraded from extremely outdated LCDs.

I know what you mean about people upgrading from poor LCDs but that is most people tbh, some people are still rocking plasmas and most move onto OLEDs.

I just think monitor wise OLEDs offers the best overall experience especially this year with all the different panels and models getting released.

I came from high end LCDs, plasma and so on and they don't compare whatsoever to oled except maybe on sdr content which is overly bright (no darkness/contrast scenes at all).

Zero brun in still on my LG 2017 oled and my aw 34 since release and they have both been used non stop but if you're someone who watches sports/news all day with 100% brightness then yeah best to avoid.
