World in Conflict "virtually identical" on PS3/360

A fanboy comment is one that is backed up by no evidence, the 360 gpu is more powerful, the ati r580 series outpaced the g70 by some margin and the 360 chip is a slightly faster r580.

I fail to see any evidence from your side of the debate, where in the ops quote did it say that the 360 was more powerful? He simply stated it was more challenging, this is to be expected because it it harder to code for.

If you have a look around, lets say for example a quote from one of the lead developers of Mirrors Edge, saying that the CPU in the PS3 has allowed them to do things that other CPUs don't.

The 360 has the edge in terms of GPU, that's true, but in turn the PS3 has the edge in CPU power. It tends to even out.

There's no evidence to suggest the 'cell' is more powerful than the 360 cpu and the inconsistent fps of say GTA4 on the ps3 tends to suggest it isn't.

Is ths fella giving a speech at a microsoft share holders meeting?

whats with the ' pr ' ...... viral marketer?

Just to add if there are any viral marketing companies out there I am available for an immediate start

360 is the better console end of arguement, needles take your fanboyism elsewhere kid

The one site that claimed that - Eurogamer, even stated in that benchtest that the PS3 version ran vsync and the 360 didnt. Vsync lowers average framerate by around 20%, when that was pointed out in the original thread it died as basically everyone realised it was a pointless test.

On topic, did anyone actually like WiC? I thought it was a bit poor personally, mainly because of the insane amounts of micromanagement.

Except MGS has appeared on Microsoft, Wii and Sony formats?

That's not what i meant but it doesn't matter.

Back to the gpu thing, it is very poor indeed that sony basically just used an out of date (by 12 months) desktop gpu, not modified in any way to suit a console. Clearly when publishers want to keep the 360 and ps3 versions of a game looking and running similarly this is going to be unfair to 360 users as at least ms and ati made the effort to make a console optimised graphics chip that is faster and easier to code for.

somebody switch this guy off ..... I can't take the nonsense.

It's not nonsense but fact, fanboys have issues with facts. The ps3 gpu is just an old desktop chip and the 360 chip was tailored for the 360 console.

God damnit, can we actually discuss the ******* game??

I have it on PC and think its superb, most enjoyable single player RTS campaign I've ever played, great cutscenes, good story twists and enjoyable scenarios.

I thought the singleplayer was a bit like you had to do everything in a particular order, no freedom to it. The multiplayer on the other hand is great!

Can you actually answer my original question - I can see where it says the 360 is easier to code for, but where exactly does it say it's more powerful in that article?

Forget about what you belive to be more powerful as I couldn't give a monkeys and that's not what I'm asking. You originally said "Cue flamewar... Though it is further proof that the 360 is the more codeable and powerful gaming system." and yet I don't any proof of that at all from the article - please point it out to me.

It seems like you have taken it upon yourself to turn this thread into a 360 vs PS3 GPU comparison thread and tell everyone how much better the GPU is in the 360..... and you think everyone else is a fanboy for not playing ball with you - take a look in the mirror mate and then you will see what a fanboy really looks like ;)

I never actually got around to playing it online, with RTS' i tend to try to complete the SP campaign first before i venture into the scary online battles. With this however i got bored before the end, the storyline while cliched to hell was pretty good for an rts tho.

Hey i was just making a point, no need to take it personally, i was presenting objective fact.
