World of Warcraft Cataclysm Thread

Oh nice so now we have to level again and work months yet again for gear. As if Blizzard already have't peed off thousands of players by allowing you to gain Conquest gear when guilds have worked months trying to gain it so some "noob" can just wear 2 pieces of it by doing heroics yet he hasnt any raid experience whatsoever..

Also make new instances then you can add to the "instances cannot be launched" problem, dont fix it though.

Yes my rant is over but I am sure many other long time players feel the way I do.

Been playing since release and no I dont feel the way you do.
 
I don't like the whole idea of having heroic badges and gaining epics from that. It seems really unfair, I definitely preferred it when the people with the amazing gear were the people who put a lot of time into the game and got good at what they did.

Now anyone can get PvP epics, or heroic epics and be as well geared as those who put a lot of effort into it.

I can see how people disagree with me but I'd much prefer raid level loot to come from raids and epic PvP loot to come from having to grind for weeks to get a high pvp rank.

The people that don't understand this are the ones that have not been succesful in raids or haven't even raided so far and put months of effort into it and I feel exacty the same way you do. Epics is fine and in fact yes it's good to be able to gear up in ToC and from badges but to gain T8 gear from badges is a joke

At the end of the day the better player is the one who knows how to play his/her class because he/her has been doing so from experience not just because he/she has the gear for it

The game is a write off.. heaven for the unskilled and casuals / housewives / 1 armed monkeys but there must be better things on the horizon for those wanting a little challenge to their gaming.

They mentioned at Blizzcon that it won't affect the new expansion, or something similar :]

I quite like the different approach they're taking to stats for example, they explain the reasoning very well.

As for not challenging, have you downed all the bosses in the current end game ? Warcraft might be catering for the "casuals" because they make up the majority of the user base, you leet kids are very much the minority.

Don't remember them saying they'd "fixed" it, just that they'd allowed more instances to be launched, so it shouldn't affect players as much.

Lets have a look at what's on the table at the moment shall we in terms of difficulty:

Uldaur 10/25

Mimiron fire fighter
Freya knock knock knock on wood
Yogg saron no lights in the darkness
Levi 4 towers
Hodir speed kill
Ignis speed kill
Iron council steelbreaker last
XT heartbreaker
Algalon 10/25 and if you think thats easy, try herald of the titans achievement

Now, the new content for TOC 10/25

So far, pretty standard difficulty, heroic mode however isn't active yet. If you still think all that is easy, go try get gladiator rank in the new season where 2v2 bracket earns nothing (aka actually use skill instead of facerolling setups)

The game now is probably the hardest its ever been and I'm keen to see what toc 25 HC mode compares like to sunwell difficutly.
 
Hardest its ever been? Naxx 40 was harder.

and I have done every achievement you've posted, not Herald of the Titans however. Quit before my guild got Alone in the Darkness but did 1 light in July.

Hard modes are optional you do not need to do one to progress towards the final boss unlike TBC or Vanilla and even when you do these all you get is a silly title another recoloured item and the 100th recoloured proto drake.

The game is easier then ever if you can`t see that you are just lying or need to take off the rose tinted goggles.

Also only 60 guilds cleared Naxxramas at level 60 no hardmode has a lower number.

I've just noticed they're bringing Nefarian back too. How the hell does this work? We killed him in vanilla WoW, like, actually killed him, looted his head and everything.

This bothers you, but the fact you were able to kill him and loot his head week after week doesn't? :confused:

I really don't get the people who whine about casual players getting loot. They're paying the same amount you are to play the game, they deserve a chance to experience it too. I've been in a raiding guild close to top on my server and I really didn't care what gear other people had, I played for myself and because I enjoyed the game. I think it's pretty sad that people think epics and numbers are so important.

The expansion sounds interesting but I don't know if I'll ever bother going back to WoW. Blizzard keep making leveling more insignificant and pushing towards raiding/heroics as the main part of the game and I always got bored at end game :(.

Ive raided for years and still dont feel the way you do.

Epics are just pixels and mean nothing.

Crap players are crap in any gear they wear.

Get over it.

Also, Naxx40 was only cleared by a few guilds due to:-

1. It wasnt out for long before BC came out
2. 4 Horsemen required 8 T3 geared warrior tanks. The top guild on my server had to borrow tanks from other guilds running Naxx.
3. Sapp required the raid to have full frost res gear
4. Numbers 3. and 4. took time. I remeber Death and Taxes asking on the forums for mats for the frost res gear. They couldnt farm enough on their own in time.

I'm rerolling wogen druid/dk when this is out, really really can't wait.


And tbh, SWP pre nerf was harder than current content. TOTC is oneshot win... we walk in clear then go back to our normal ulduar raiding.

Having some optional hard modes safely tucked away in an instance doesnt make a game challanging. It makes one tiny area challanging which you dont have to in order to progress.

Leaving the safety of a town and venturing into the wilderness and facing mortal danger would make the game challanging. Instead Blizz has made everyone near indestructable demi-gods - i could count the number of times i died whilst levelling from 70-80 on one hand, and i am in no way a super skilled amazing player.
