***World of Warcraft : Warlords of Draenor***

Kinda wish I hadn't blown my free level 90, having returned to wow after an extended break (quit at the start of cataclysm) I made a rogue on a pvp server.

Boosted to 90, started playing and was blown away by all the changes, it was too confusing to start from that level, even though your skills are awarded to you slowly.

Ended up starting from scratch and so far am loving it, currently level 94 so have seen parts of Draenor which are brilliant.

After years of chasing that WoW replacement, playing GW2, Wildstar, SWTOR and dozens of others, I can honestly say. You cannot beat WoW!. It just works (when the servers are not playing up :P)

Having finally got my toons off Draenor. I am loving this xpack. Before for me it was a race to max level. But since I am not in a guild nor do I really do pve I am in no real rush. I quit wow for a year and never imagined I'd come back. My focus in wow has been pvp. I'll get gear for that easy enough, in the meantime I'm just enjoying the levelling.

and back up to 10 million subs it goes

It explains a bit how much they underestimated the amount of returning players for warlords.

Its also a good two fingered salute to the "wow is dead" mentality people have everytime a new kid arrives on the block (lookin at you Wildstar).

Amazing achievement for a 10 year old game, were now back into Wrath numbers then i assume?

Even more of an achievement when you guess that the game is only released in China today 20th so those figures will be US and EU only. Expect to see another jump after China come on board

wow is the last well run mmo really that's why people go back.
archeage just failed because of mass exploits for almost everything and they barely banned anyone... also they made it pure pay2win recently

almost tempted to retry wow havent played it since wotlk but noticed in my account I got upgraded to mists of pandaria or whateevr its called

This will bleed out back to where MoP ended by the end of the expansion I think. This is by far the best expansion they have released (IMO) with TBC following behind shortly. I just hope this is a wake up call for them and they see that a good expansion can bring players back (although they are already working on the next two expansions so we might not see this :( )

Thoughts on heroic healing? I found auchindoun a breeze but shadow burial grounds female Orc boss is no joke. Seems they still need to tweak some encounters to be honest.

I levelled a holy paladin and any healing is woefully painful... I just don't have the healing skill set to keep players alive - AOE heal that does <4000 HP is just stupid!

I know they wanted to change the style of healing, reducing massive damage spikes but at the moment they are still happening! Not sure if it is healing in general or the holy paladin spec. (albeit it is easier when people don't stand in stuff that kills them) .

Made 100 last night and thought YAY I can start doing instances to gear up.... NOPE Ilvl 600 required before you can start, I am only 588 :( boo, Off I go to continue questing and hoping for upgrades.

If you still have quite a lot of quests in Nagrand and/or Ark Spire, try to build a War Mill in your garrison...it works really well, I had some upgrades as high as ilvl630.

Once they work out the server reliability issue they're on to a winner.

Providing that they can consistently deliver high quality content on a regular basis. If they want to avoid a significant subscription drop again they can't have a patch then wait 9 months again.

Just a couple of tips I've picked up.
TIPS:
1) Get a lumber mill ASAP. It will significantly increase your daily income of garrison resources. (Apparently the trade station works as well)

2) If you get an Inn to level 2 you will have the option to recruit followers with specific traits/abilities. There as an ability called Scavenger (this doubles the amount of garrison resources for a successful mission, that rewards resources.)

3) PVP is a relatively easy (even with alliance) way to gear for heroics. The items are 620 base in PVE and should get you started. Great for raising your average Ilvl.

4) Try to keep all your Garrison buildings producing work orders. Crafting level 100 items will take significantly longer if you do not.

5) Struggling to get 600 Ilvl, quests/rare rewards in Nagrand should get you there easily. To increase the chance of random upgrades get a Dwarfen bunker.

6) Don't forget about your daily profession cooldown items.

Easy way to increase your ilvl is to start the legendary ring quest, after going to Spires and killing the last boss (you can do this between 97-100), you will be rewarded with an ilvl 640 Epic ring (as far as I remember).

Ah missed that one, you can also go to vendor next to the hand in to buy the different stat version of the rings for your class for 500g.

I've always had a love-hate relationship with healing (mostly hate), but the only time I ever felt truly empowered as a healer was as a holy paladin in WOTLK. Beacon on one tank and spam enormous, fast holy light crits on the other tank whilst splash healing the melee. I wish they'd get stuffed with all the tinkering sometimes.

Similarly I absolutely loved playing a fire mage when it was a static cannon, chucking huge 3sec cast fireballs at the boss, until extra spells and rotations were forced in that meant watching a timer for this, that and the other.

Now every class is the same perfect little *********, but at the same time no class really feels special to play anymore.
