***World of Warcraft : Warlords of Draenor***

I levelled a holy paladin and any healing is woefully painful... I just don't have the healing skill set to keep players alive - AOE heal that does <4000 HP is just stupid!

I know they wanted to change the style of healing, reducing massive damage spikes but at the moment they are still happening! Not sure if it is healing in general or the holy paladin spec. (albeit it is easier when people don't stand in stuff that kills them) .

I'm finding it the same. Multi strike seems like a necessity due to it being decent free healing and hots seem to be the only realistic way of keeping dps alive when the tank is being battered. Some fights need tuning though as they have very heavy damage on key stages. The worm boss in burial grounds either does a 100k hit on you if you get swallowed or you stand in necrotic plague getting 12k damage per sec. It's like choosing between a rock and a hard place and makes the interval before such abilities a frantic mana burning fest to get people high enough in health to survive the next bout of abilities. The first boss is also very similar with the daggers that do quite a lot of aoe damage but if you don't stand on a lunar sign, you get a 170k aoe hit lol. Crazy stuff! Aoe healing is pathetically low and quite expensive too, making it an interesting time for healers at the moment. Dps just doesn't understand how truly hard this content is for healers, which is daft really.

From the couple of Heroics I've done (tank) I've noticed healers struggling with the massive damage that people are receiving. Unfortunately I think its heavily gear dependent on all counts.

Seem inscriptions working out well.

Just making darkmoon cards.

Sold one last night for 30k. Made over 100k so far on them and DMF isn't for a week or so :)

Are you talking the individual cards or completed decks?

RNG is always a git when it comes to making the decks ive always found.

Also as others have said the healing is proper hard at the start of the expansion which is pretty usual. People are still in the mentality that they are OP and can stand in anything, they forget what CC and interrupts are and tanks wonder why they have those reduce damage cooldowns.

In guild runs as you would expect its been significantly easier.

As a guide for people keep doing the proving grounds until your comfortable in silver, im still going oom in the 7th or 8th wave on silver but can struggle through the last. Gold just isnt happening in quest gear.

If im pugging ill go as DPS for sure, the community is too unforgiving to people getting to grips with roles which dont just involve DPS'ing and you see all the usual DPS whining at the tanks/healers.

Made 100 last night and thought YAY I can start doing instances to gear up.... NOPE Ilvl 600 required before you can start, I am only 588 :( boo, Off I go to continue questing and hoping for upgrades.

I was 590 when I dinged, went straight into AH and spent about 4k to get me to 600 as SkyReach runs were either giving me duplicates or gold.

I really don't understand the Proving Grounds thing. It makes no sense that I'm apparently good enough (and presumably geared enough) to do heroics, but I'm not even allowed to do normal dungeons because my gear isn't good enough :/.

Didn't try Gold but silver was easy enough as disc priest, finished with >50% mana with 580ish gear when I hit 100.

I don't need to do it as deeps to queue as both do I?

You need to do it for any role you wish to run HCs as.

Its just a rough filter to make sure people hit the minimum requirement to not drag the party down.

Meh, I guess I'll just queue as healer when I get the ilvl, doing proving grounds once was boring enough :p.

I know why it's there, I just don't understand why both that and the ilvl thing exist. Surely the point in proving grounds is to simulate the requirements for heroics, if you pass I don't see why you need to get more gear :p.

I can do normals now, don't have the ilvl for heroics yet. I was speaking as if I'd just finished the proving ground thing when I couldn't do normal dungeons despite passing the thing that is supposed to see if you can do heroics :p.

As it is atm I don't see the point in proving grounds.

Keep it up, I felt the same in some zones but Nagrand is a gem of a last zone.

I was expecting to still have to do Tanaan Jungle, looks like it's blocked off

A version of Tanaan Jungle is briefly explored by level 90 players during the assault on the Dark Portal, but subsequently becomes inaccessible, barred by the Iron Horde fortified gates which are preventing entry deep into the zone. A fully integrated version of the zone is planned to be added in a future patch as a max level zone and will also be the place of the final raid of the expansion with Grommash Hellscream as a boss.

They are good for reminding people they need to do things other than stand there, push a few buttons and look at a meter I guess.
