***World of Warcraft : Warlords of Draenor***

Have been playing this on and off since the launch of the expansion... Quite enjoy the garisson system and levelling zones.

What would people recommend as the 'best' way for me to gear up to do some casual raiding with my guild? I've tried a few normal 5-mans but by DPS seems very low 6-7k so think I need to get some better gear before doing any more instances. I play fire mage.

Guild I'm in finally killed brackenspore normal , twin ogron normal and HC kargath.

They are on about doing separate 10man hc team instead of keeping open to all but still doing normal raids with everyone until people are geared enough to carry the slackers.

top dps on all boss kill :D not that guild really has high dps :S
I think I was one of the people taking lowest dmg too

The hunters dps is pretty bad for his ilvl, he shuld be pulling 2kish more at least

Start the legendary ring quest.
Do molten core LFR and get your 640 helm
Keep pugging heroic dungeons until you get 630 in all slots
Start to make 640 BoE profession epics (or buy them).

The last one isn't really needed if you can get 630/636 blues from dungeons - Then just jump into LFR highmaul, and progress into normal highmaul via the premeds group tab. You can also spend apexes crystals on 630 blue gear (which you can later upgrade when you have lots more apexis crystals).

I wouldnt bother with these at all, pointless for the casual imo. Nothing wrong with just using 630/636 drops from HC's until you get better from LFR. Even the 615/620 from normals are fine.

Just make sure gear is aimed are your priority stats and you'll be fine. I would maybe consider going frost instead of fire though

Yeah, fire requires gear to really excel, at your gear level frost would be a lot better damage wise, even arcane would probably be better, depending on if you have the right stats or not.

I've just been doing the trial for this and got to 1 xp before 91 where the xp cap comes in. Seems pretty decent but I don't think I like what they've done with talents (I didn't play MoP). The guild I played with in Cata are already doing quite well with Highmaul so I doubt I'll really get a spot raiding with them by the time I'm 100!

Think I'll have to get my self the expansion and gametime tonight!

Edit: This might be easier than googling - what do the red highlight areas on the map mean? I've just come out my garrison questing in that zone and there are red areas and I can't see anything to indicate what they are?

You can get 636 warforged from HC dungeons
Buy and then upgrade armour with apexis crystals - 630-645-655
You're also limited to only 3 crafted items :(
My servers AH sells 640 ~10-20k g and 655 going for ~20-30k g with some items listed as high as 100k g

Seen a lot of people using that 660 PvP gear. The trouble with some of the highmaul drops is they just don't have the right secondaries for certain classes, and with reforging gone there's nothing you can do.

I am not sure how its done, but I know one of my guildies changes the secondary stats on a drop, rolled for it I belive.

Would have to ask them how they did it, I could be wrong of course.

You can reroll crafted items by making a one use item for re-rolling them, and raid drops will alter their stats per specialization automatically (i.e items swapping STR/INT or AGI/INT, etc). This is why somebody can like an item and you will see it statted for your spec not theirs sometimes leading to confusion.

The Hunter also needs to prioritise Kill shot far more. should be way above Barrage, same goes for Chimaera Shot.

x2

Not sure if it's an excellent rotation, but mine tends to be Chimaera, Aimed, 2x Steady shot for the buff, then repeat (with barrage, Stampede and Rapid Fire as soon as they come off CD)

If Chim is still on cooldown, then 2x Aimed, by which point the buff from Steady Shot x2 needs to be applied again and usually Chim is ready at that point also.

I just craft the item I want, if it doesn't have the secondaries I want then I auction it and buy the one that does.

Yeah it's easier to sell the ones you craft and buy the stats you wants.

I bought the hexweave embroidery from AH as I didn't want to waste my own hexweave cloth, as I was planning on upgrading it to 655 with hexweave essence.

Re-rolling stats on crafted cloth armour is terrible, took 8 attempts to get what I wanted. The first 4 didn't even change the secondary stat, only changed the amount.

I used 21 trying to get the right stats on a cloak I wanted, even then I didn't get perfect stats, I just accepted it and gave up as I didn't want to spend anymore gold...

yea it's not a guild of try hards I've been thinking about finding somewhere more near my skill level.

Not that I'm skilled but I go to the effort of finding out how to maximise my dps etc and it's not hard to avoid 90% of mechanics on a boss fight.

There's not a lot of warlocks around because apparently we are the worst dps and I see guilds trying to recruit them often.

It's just finding out which guilds are good, raid a lot and have a space for me in their core group..

Also yesterday they said after the raid they would be contacting the people who made the HC core raid team and I never got a pm about it kinda feel a bit crap since I was tops dps on every boss kill but seem to be overlooked for some reason

Unrelated to the post, but I see you're playing Affliction, how are you finding it? Both locks in my guild are Destro and 1 was thinking of trying it but didn't really like it.
