***World of Warcraft : Warlords of Draenor***

Since the game has lost 30pc of its subscribers over the last quarter, many people would say 'no'. I lasted one month before quitting again.

Youchy! But could that be put down to people being bored with the endgame content? I could still get some enjoyment from 90-100 I guess?
How long does it take most people to level up, in hours roughly?

90-100 was "fun" and the garrison stuff (before it gets stale) is a nice addition. I think I managed about 2-3 months out of WoD before the reality of gear grinding struck me.

Id say in terms of leveling up overall experience WoD certainly feels like one of their best quality wise.

Leveling realy is stupidly quick.
I went in with a realy old lvl 85 char. Did 85-90 in the first zone of panda land.
90-100 took me a a couple of weeks. Then i did instances/garrison/alts stuff for a week. I also solod most older raids for transmog gear. Then I quit. I played for a few hours most, but not every day while <100.

Running low level alts through older content was much more enjoyable than the new stuff.

So as another posted said. It took about a month before I realised the game was no longer fun.

Hmmms, so it could be worth it for a month. Would only be paying like 23 quid, so less then a new game I guess.

*edit - Or maybe I will give one of the freebees a go, like Archage!

I'm never really one to complain about games like this, as they are obviously fun to some people, but not others. But on this occasion, I believe the game is at it's worst ever. This is the first time I've looked at the game and thought "this is the beginning of the end". And I had an 18 month break before!

What's wow like at the moment?

Is it worth coming back to play? I only ever pvp'd did a few raids but left a while ago. Last I remember I was farming onyxia for her mount.

enjoying its biggest sub loss for one quarter than it did in the entire span of Mists of Pandaria.

PvP by all accounts is a bit of a mess also, if you havent played for some time a whole load has changed for sure, get a starter account maybe and see how it looks for ya

Down from 10m subs at launch to 7m, according to a report I read.

No crafting (seriously, whoever made the final decision on gathering/crafting for this expansion should be fired), boring raids, and handing loot out on a plate ruined it for me.

Even little things like removing guild levelling/perks seemed like a massive backward step. It's a shame, as the return to the darker/orcish theme is far better than the cartoony Panda areas.

I quit at the end of cata (top 50 world raiding/guildleader from vanilla till end of cata), came back for WoD because it looked appealing, as did a LOT of my friends. The game got very boring very fast. Raids were of average quality, PvP was junk and as normal nothing else "fun" to do.

Of the 15-20 of us who came back for WoD, only one is still raiding and another playing verrry casually.

Yikes!
Didnt realise all those changes had happened! Whats happened to crafting / gathering?
Didnt they only just add that guild levelling, and now have removed it?

Maybe I will try out Archeage, looks like fun and is free :/

I haven't played since the first raid tier.

TBH I think Garrisons and crafting was the biggest mistake they made.

The other thing I didn't like was there being absolutely no incentive to run dungeons after getting your gear. I used to love the dungeons in WOTLK and you would run them everyday for your frost tokens and rep. I'll never understand why they removed this. I've never liked dailies and this was a good alternative. You should have the option to do one or the other to progress. I wasn't really a massive fan of the 5 mans themselves either.

The first raid was also rather uninspiring.

WOTLK era was so good. :(

They definitely dropped the ball this expansion imo, saying that I have resubbed after a 2 month break (yes I know part of the problem). Just intend to level my old Alliance rogue up and do the legendary dagger q line, one aspect I havent seen so what the hell. I figure by playing casually I should be at 100 and ready to go by the time 6.2 is out.

Regarding sub numbers though I think the Q2 figures will be even lower, the 2 guilds that were fairly active when I unsubbed are both ghost towns now.

They have done so many things wrong though that I dont think they can rectify them without gutting the entire focus of where they are taking the game. We keep hearing how the WoW team has never been bigger and yet its churning out no where near as much content as previous expansions - do Blizzard even want to put the effort into making the game 'great' again or do they just care about the 2 fremium titles they have in HS/HotS?

I think most of us would take a guess at where their focus lies, and unfortunately its not with WoW.

Well my account has been hacked, tried getting it back but no details on their system so that's fun. Might re roll but I don't see the point. It's weird how blizzard can't search by dob/name and old characters. Sucks.

They definitely dropped the ball this expansion imo *snip*

I reckon they are past time to reinvigorate this. IE they should have skipped this expansion as an expansion and instead created a new up to date game engine and made this story line the focus for World of Warcraft 2, leaving the orig game to keep the timeline mostly intact.

Or they should have gone with their day 1 plan of having level 100 being the demon dimensions or something like that. Wasnt there a plan originally to go crash the gates of a burning legion temple? Arthas was the primary antagonist for a long while, but the people who pulled the strings to get him where he was should have been the next goal.

Either way it needs a fresh lick of paint.

For me they need to bring back meaningful quest chains, decent story telling, proper dungeons (none of the boss-corridor-boss design they have now), professions need to mean something again. Get rid of garrisons or just dont ever bring them back into the next expansion (I recall them saying how Garrisons would never be required to do anything in the game, and yet in 6.2 we will need a maxed out one to see the content, gg Blizz).

oh and **** orcs, seriously I'm sick and tired of them.

Yep the game just got stale real fast this expansion, taking a break for now, unsure if 6.2 will bring me back but with most if not all of the people i enjoy the game with gone it doesn't seem likely.

HOI!
I'm an orc :p Have been since Beta!
So forgive my curiosity but what has actually happened to professions that makes them worthless / pointless in this one?
